Holly Willoughby says “what is that” as she’s reunited with her past.

Holly Willoughby on the Michael McIntyre’s Big Show

Holly Willoughby put her head into her hands and said “this is so awkward” as she was unexpectedly reunited with someone from her past. The 44-year-old appeared on tonight’s episode of Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.

The mum-of-three was one of the celebrity guests, appearing alongside Perrie Edwards and members of boybands Busted and McFly. In usual fashion, the episode started with a memory game called Do You Remember Me, in which guests are reintroduced to people they have previously met.

This can be anyone from a teacher to a delivery person from last week. This time around, it was Holly’s turn in the hot seat. Straight off the bat, the TV presenter’s first-ever boyfriend, Oliver, came onto stage. Holly not only remembered him but also shared memories of when they were together.

She said: “It’s so weird because in my head you’ve gone from the person who I know, you as a small boy, to suddenly know as a man. I remember being at a campfire, toasting marshmallows, snuggled up – it was really nice.” Oliver added: “We used to love the Beach Boys.”

It didn’t stop there. The dad-of-two, who is now married to someone else, said “I think you dumped me, Holly” and then proceeded to produce a years-old handwritten pink note from Holly. The former This Morning star read the note out loud with one part saying: “I love you, hope you love me. What about the photo of the naked lady Hannah was telling me about?”

Holly squealed as she continued to read what she had written. She said “this is so awkward, what is that?” and covered her face. The note was signed with a row of X’s and a kiss mark from Holly’s lips.

Michael McIntyre’s show first graced our screens in 2015. It has now returned for its eight season, with all episodes available to watch on BBC One.
