Harry Styles wowed fans as he completed the Berlin Marathon yesterday in an impressive time, beating his personal best. The One Direction singer ran the 26.2 mile race around the German capital under a false name. It was Styles’ second world major marathon this year, taking on Berlin just six months after he completed the Tokyo Marathon.

The 31-year-old joined the 50,000 runners on the start line in Berlin, under the fake name of Sted Sarandos. He crossed the finish line in just under three hours at 2:59:13, which is mind-blowing for an amateur runner. It seems he has put in the training, as he shaved almost 30 mins off his Tokyo time, which he ran in March.

Harry wore sunglasses and a headband to keep his hair out of his face. He wore a black long sleeve top and black shorts, paired with bright pink Nike running trainers. His race bib had the name “Sted” on the front.

The race winner had a time of 2:02:16, reports The Mirror. The event’s organisers have confirmed Harry took part in the marathon, and fans have congratulated the Watermelon Sugar singer.

On Reddit, one fan said: “He ran past me”, while another praised the pop star saying: “Sub 3 hours is a brilliant time for an amateur runner.”

A third wrote: “This is FAST. He’s a very good runner.” One more added: “I’m all for celebrities having fun with their normal people hobbies.” Another fan added: “Omg that’s an amazing time! Way to go Harry!”

Someone else commented: “I don’t know the sport enough to comment on the time, but improving yourself by 25 minutes sounds impressive.”

And one more said: “2 hours and 59 minutes is a very, very good time. A very small percentage of people can run a marathon in that quick of time.

“Now if you compare him to a professional or someone who runs races for a living, then yes he’s a little slower than them but those professionals are running around 100 miles a week all the time. I’m sure Harry doesn’t have a ton of free time to run as much as he’d like so kudos to him.”

Richard Whitehead shared a photo of himself with Harry before the race. Whitehead is two-time gold medal winner over 200 meters at the Paralympic Games.
