Harry Redknapp and wife Sandra’s mansion targeted in sledgehammer burglary

Harry Redknapp and Sandra were targeted by burglars

Former Tottenham and QPR manager Harry Redknapp fell victim to a burglary when thieves broke into his Dorset home using sledgehammers, making off with his wife Sandra’s jewellery.

Masked raiders forcibly entered Harry Redknapp’s mansion using hammers, stealing Sandra’s treasured possessions.

The ex-Premier League boss and his spouse weren’t present when the criminals battered their way through the front entrance of their £5 million property in Dorset.

And it arrived as a fresh setback to the pair as last week it emerged that Sandra had been hospitalised.

Speaking about the burglary a source revealed to the Sun: “It was clearly organised. The raiders must have known the house was empty.”

It is suspected that the burglars may have acquainted themselves with the layout of the house through an advertisement on a property website.

The thieves reportedly seized Sandra’s jewellery and other luxury items.

Harry, who has also managed West Ham and Portsmouth, and Sandra, both 78, were absent from their £5 million residence when the break-in occurred last Friday night.

Their home, which is currently on the market, is situated near the beach resort of Sandbanks in Dorset – an area renowned for having some of the most expensive properties per square foot in the world. One theory suggests that the criminals might have obtained details about the property from its Rightmove listing.

ITV Racing presenter Matt Chapman sent his best wishes to the 78 year old former Tottenham Hotspur boss’s wife during Thursday evening’s Racing League coverage from Great Yarmouth Racecourse in Norfolk on ITV4.

The nature of Sandra’s hospital treatment remains undisclosed, with the 78 year old currently receiving medical care.

Discussing Harry’s horse King of Bears – which ultimately came home in sixth position – Matt remarked: “So, King of Bears, just to say Harry Redknapp will be watching this horse from his hospital bed, but not his bed, his missus Sandra is just being treated in hospital at the moment.

“Sandra, if you’re listening in – I think she wanted to watch Emmerdale, but Harry’s making her watch this race – I really hope King of Bears runs well.

“He’s a character. He could win it, he could finish last, but he gives Jack Doughty a big chance for [trainer] George Scott.”

Harry claimed victory in the 2018 series of ITV1’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, and regularly spoke adoringly about his devotion to Sandra whilst in the Australian jungle.
