Gogglebox star Sophie Sandiford has been supported by fans after she issued a relationship announcement to her 587,000 followers on Instagram. The armchair critic is renowned for her role on the popular Channel 4 programme.
The reality TV star gives her opinion on the week’s best TV alongside her brother Pete Sandiford on the Channel 4 show. The two first appeared in 2017 and quickly became fan favourites.
The brother and sister thrilled fans as they welcomed viewers into their home once again for the latest episode. Friday’s programme saw them watch shows such as Adolescence and 99 To Beat.
Away from the screen, Sophie regularly shares updates on social media. The reality TV star has built up a large following on Instagram where she shares snaps of her life away from the sofa.
In a recent post, she shared a photograph of her boyfriend Ben McKeown, who she has been dating since 2022. She captioned the photograph: “Best 3 years ever.”
Taking to the comments one fan said: “Congratulations.” More fans added several red love heart emojis, while another wrote: “Wee engagement soon?”
Sophie first went public with boyfriend Ben in the summer of 2022 when she posted a photo of the two of them together with Pete and his wife Paige at a wedding.
Since then she has offered fans a little more insight into their relationship, with photos of dates and even a trip to Belgium appearing on her Instagram timeline.
Sophie’s brother Pete recalled his first encounter with his sister’s new man and blasted him for lying about his height. He joked: “I don’t think he’s six foot. He doesn’t look six foot. Lies, already built on lies, oh dear.” Sophie hit back at the claims and insisted Pete was “jealous” because her new man makes him “look like one of the borrowers”.
Earlier this week, the Gogglebox star celebrated her rarely seen mum’s 60th birthday. She posted a selection of snaps to mark the occasion.
Sophie wrote: “Celebrating our gorgeous mum’s 60th birthday this weekend has been so lovely. Thank you for everything you do for us, you really are the best. Love you forever mum.”
Celebrity followers took to the comments to congratulate Sophie’s mum on reaching the milestone. Izzi Warner said: “Happy birthday Julie! Hope you have a fabulous day.”
Others were in disbelief as they pointed out how Pete has inherited his mum’s looks. Poppy said: “Omg your mum looks like Pete in a wig! Happy birthday Julie xxx”
