Gogglebox’s Siddiqui family share heartwarming ‘forever to go’ update

The Siddiqui family have been a fan favourite on Gogglebox over many years. The TV stars found fame after joining the Channel 4 show when it first started in 2013. The family have since welcomed viewers into their Derbyshire home on Fridays for over a decade. Retired engineer Sid, appears alongside his sons Baasit and Umar on the show, their brother Raza sometimes makes a guest appearance on the sofa.

While viewers will know the family from their segments on Gogglebox, they share a more in-depth look into their lives on their social media channels. Their follower count is increasing daily and the family have close to 140,000 followers keeping an eye on their daily lives when the camera stops rolling.

One of the latest updates from the family has been met by a wave of supportive messages. Baasit and Mel Siddiqui shared a selfie together this week, and captioned a photo shared to their account: “13 years married today, 16.5 years together – forever to go. Happy Anniversary to the absolute best, couldn’t do life without you. Love you.”

After receiving plenty of supportive messages, the family sent a thank you message to followers. The message from the couple said: “Thank you for all the lovely well wishes! We had a lovely day & celebrated in style with Theodore’s harvest festival & a meal deal. Celebrating properly soon!”

Baasit has been married to his wife Mel since 2014, and they share children Amelia and Theodore. They married just one year after the family joined Gogglebox, The much-loved series first aired in the UK on March 7 2013. There have since been 25 series that have aired on Channel 4.

It has been a difficult couple of weeks for the family, aside from the anniversary celebrations. Last month, a photo of a grey cat was shared which was captioned: “Sleep Tight Little One. Our little Diva Poppy – nearly 14 years and still didn’t feel long enough.

“A lifetime of memories we will all never forget. We hope you are reunited with your big brother Rufus and are both chasing rainbows together. Pets leave paw prints on our hearts, and memories in our souls. Sleep tight little one.”

The Gogglebox family will be on our screens for another series, which is currently ongoing. The much-loved series first aired in the UK on March 7 2013. There has since been 25 series that have aired on Channel 4.

The production team spend time scouting out the perfect candidates for the show, and being spotted remains the only way to be on Gogglebox. The new families appeared on our screens on September 5, as the 26th series got underway.

The regular Gogglebox stars also returned to our screens. Those returning to the show included Jenny and Lee, The Siddiquis, The Malones, Giles and Mary, Ellie and Izzi and David and Shirley.
