Gogglebox’s Raza Siddiqui Breaks Down in Tears as He Shares Last Day Update

Gogglebox star Raza Siddiqui said “it is not often that I cry” as he shared an emotional update with fans. Raza often shares the sofa with his family on Gogglebox.

The Gogglebox star revealed that it was his last day working for his current company.Taking to Instagram, Raza said: “It is not often that I cry however my emotions got the better of me today for it was my last day @thestaycompany.

“Other than the time I left the office with my favourite tie in tatters, it’s been a delightful chapter of my life. I’m really gonna miss the friends I have made, chatting with our guests and the work I did. Thank you for a memorable 4 and something years !!”

The Siddiqui family have been firm favourites of the Channel 4 show ever since it began back in 2013. Away from their sofa, Baasit is happily married to Melissa and also juggles his responsibilities as a dad and a Gogglebox personality with his work as an IT teacher. He started a newsletter in November, The 1st Team Siddiqui, where he shares exclusive learning resources for schools.

His brother Umit has worked as a biomedical Scientist and his dad, Sid, is a retired engineer who moved to the UK from Pakistan when he was aged just 16 – as Mirror Online reports. Sid celebrated his 80th birthday on February 1 and in a post on their shared Instagram page, the Siddiquis said: “Happy Birthday Dad, you really are one of a kind and loved by everyone. Love all The Siddiqui Gang xxx.”

The family recently shared that Raza has been filming for the first episode of the new series on a post of social media. The post read: “Hi Everyone. We are happy to be back filming this week. Don’t forget we are back this Friday…Valentines Day (your little reminder). Channel 4 – 9pm see you then.” Gogglebox is on every Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
