Gogglebox stars receive heartfelt support after loss of beloved family member

The Malone family were devastated as they announced a beloved member of their household has died.

The fan-favourite family, made up of mum Julie, dad Tom, and sons Tom Jr, and Shaun, have been a staple on Gogglebox since 2014.

In a heartbreaking new update on Saturday (June 7), the family revealed that one of their dogs, Bob, had passed away.

In an emotional Instagram post, Julie shared a series of memories, alongside the caption: “Today we said goodbye to our beautiful protective Bobby, he spent his last day doing what he loved , watching over the grandchildren playing in the garden. We are heartbroken. RIP our beautiful Big Bob.”

Tom Jr, who parted ways with Gogglebox in 2021, paid homage to the beloved pet, saying: “Good boy Bob… Rest easy big man,” reports the Express.

Shaun also expressed his sorrow, noting: “Today is the day we had to say goodbye to big bob, absolute great dog like a big cuddly bear.”

The family were inundated with messages from their co-stars and followers, who sent their condolences following the devastating loss.

“So sorry to hear about Bobby. Run free over the rainbow bridge,” penned fellow Gogglebox star Ellie Warner, while her sister Izzy said: “Sending you all lots of love.”

A fan echoed the sentiment of many, commenting: “I’m so sorry. It never gets easier. It’s so hard losing all the most beautiful little souls. They are children. You’ll meet again at the rainbow bridge.”

A fourth person said: “So sorry to hear of Bobby’s passing. Sending lots of love and hugs.”

The family is no stranger to such sorrow, having already had to say goodbye to their beloved Rottweiler, Dave, in 2023, who frequently appeared on Gogglebox.

Back in February, Tom Sr also aroused worry from fans after he shared a picture of himself in a hospital gown and with his arm in a sling.

The image featured the Channel 4 star propped up in bed, nursing what seemed to be a shoulder injury covered by a large bandage, while he glanced at the affected area.

Despite the mystery surrounding his condition, Tom maintained his humour, captioning the post: “Woke up with a nappy as a dressing, was caught off guard when the nurse said she had to change my nappy! Grateful to our NHS, top notch care Thank you, home now!”
