Kate Garraway shared a behind-the-scenes look of Good Morning Britain earlier today. The TV presenter and radio host shared a video to Instagram moments before the ITV show went on air to millions across the UK.

The broadcaster recorded Laura Tobin as she prepared to give the weather forecast live, Kate whispered to the camera that she has had a “catastrophe” this morning. On Instagram, she captioned a video: “So sorry Susanna Reid! Hairbrush catastrophe minutes before going on air @GMB! Will buy you a new one #bankholidayMonday.”

In the clip, Kate said: “I’ve just dropped my hair brush on the floor and it’s smashed.” She panned the camera around to show the broken hairbrush, with Susanna written across it. Kate Garraway reiterated: “I’m really sorry about that.”

Fans of the presenter took to the comments after the incident, one user wrote “naughty Kate” and another wrote “crikey Kate, did you drop it from a great height – by the way you all looked gorgeous today.” A reassuring comment said: “I bet Susanna won’t mind.”

Others were pleased to see Kate presenting on bank holiday Monday, one comment said: “Looking fantastic today, Kate and what a brilliant show which makes a nice change you and Richard make a great team.”

A further response was: “Loved waking up to you and Richard being on show this morning… especially as I’m off work. Think you’re both great on this show.”

Kate has been a co-presenter on Good Morning Britain since 2017 and Susanna Reid has been a part of the show since its launch in 2014, meaning she has been a part of the show for over a decade. She is a main presenter of the show.

Last month Susanna announced that she would be taking a break from the show to enjoy a summer holiday. Addressing the audience, she said: “I am off on my summer holidays but I will see you at the start of the new term.”

Since moving to ITV in 2014, and leaving behind stints on BBC Breakfast, Sunday Morning Live, and The Andrew Marr Show, Susanna has become a staple of our weekday mornings, appearing from Monday to Wednesday with a variety of co-hosts.
