Georgia Toffolo says acne battle is her ‘biggest struggle’ as she shares candid pics

Georgia Toffolo has bravely revealed the extent of her acne struggles with some candid photos as she said her skin has been her “biggest struggle”.

The former Made In Chelsea favourite, 30, took to Instagram to share a series of videos and photographs documenting her skin and the “relentless” ups and downs she has had over the years. Toff, who won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2017, has suffered with acne since she was 13 – and all throughout her television career, she has been battling with self-image issues behind the scenes.

In her recent Instagram post, which has already got hundreds of supportive messages from followers, the star bravely opens up about her acne battle.

She said: “I want to be honest with you all. My skin has always been my biggest struggle. Looking back through my skin diary from the past few months, the ups and downs are relentless.

“Some days it feels all-consuming and I never thought that at thirty I’d still be battling acne. But what I have learnt is that progress doesn’t mean perfect”, reports the Mirror. “It’s about showing myself kindness even on the really tough days, as you can see. If you’ve ever felt the same, I’d love you to share your story in the comments.”

Alongside the video, Toff wrote: “I never thought I’d still be battling severe acne at 30. My skin has been my biggest struggle for as long as I can remember. The ups and downs, the flare ups, the way it can dictate how I feel about myself in an instant. It’s relentless.

“But documenting my skin from May through to September has taught me something important: healing isn’t about reaching ‘perfect’ (because there isn’t such a thing!!). It’s about noticing the shifts, being kinder to myself on the hard days, and remembering that happiness can exist alongside struggle.”

“Here’s what I’ve learnt along the way: Progress isn’t linear: and that’s completely OK. Kindness to yourself is everything: speak gently, especially on bad skin days. Life goes on: living fully isn’t cancelled because of breakouts.

“If your skin feels like your biggest enemy right now, please know this: You’re not alone, and you are so much more than what you see in the mirror.”

Her followers were quick to share their own journeys and advice, whilst also supporting Toff. “Your beauty comes from within, you are so gorgeous inside and out,” one fan gushed.

Another penned: “I’ve just turned 40 and feel like I’m finally getting a grip on my skin! Sending you big hugs and love for being brave enough to be so open about your journey, you are making such a difference to so many people.”

This isn’t the first time Georgia has opened up about the topic. Back in 2022, alongside an empowering video, Toff insisted that she was no longer going to hide or shy away from showing off her natural skin after trying to cover up her blemishes for years with the use of heavy makeup.

“There are many things that we’re taught in life that define us and our worth, especially as women,” Toff says in the candid video. “As you grow older, you realise these things are not as important as they seem. There is strength in being vulnerable and being real.

“My skin and acne journey has taken me to some of the lowest points in my life. All the while, I have been pushing forward in my career, but it has always been something that has been there. It has been something to hide to avoid nasty comments, ridicule, and hate.

“But I’m done with hiding, our skin does not affect our worth. We are all beautiful, just as we are – no filters, no covering up, no makeup. You deserve to live your life without your skin holding you back. You are beautiful.”
