As Love Island All Stars wraps up tonight, former finalist Alex Bowen has shared his thoughts on the series and revealed which couple he’s rooting for. The 2016 runner-up, who found love with now-wife Olivia Bowen on the show, has been closely following this special edition of Love Island, which sees past Islanders return for another shot at romance. Speaking exclusively ahead of the final, Alex said: “There was Scott and Tina who was on our season and I have been close with Scott, but not like close where we see each other all the time but we just kept in touch over the years.
“Tina was Liv’s bridesmaids – Tina is like our little sister. It was really nice to see the change in dynamics. There are a lot of young people that go on the show and because they are older and more mature, it is nice to see that side of people. Going in a second time, you see different aspects of people than what was shown the first time they went in there. When it comes to picking a winner, Alex believes Gabby Allen and Casey O’Gorman deserve the top spot. “I like a lot of individual people but couple wise I’d say Gabby and Casey. I feel like they deserve it. I mean obviously third time lucky for Casey so must be true. He tried every style so this one has worked,” he said.
While the couple might have joined the competition a bit late, their sizzling chemistry and real connection quickly captured the hearts of viewers. Alex, who’s been through the whirlwind of post-villa life himself, knows all too well the pressures of keeping a romance alive in the spotlight, reports the Mirror.
His top tip for the lovebirds? “Block out social media,” he advised. “People get really invested and will jump on you for anything. Enjoy each other’s company, go on normal date nights, and don’t stress too much about what people think.”
Alex and Olivia are one of Love Island’s ultimate love stories, having said ‘I do’ in 2018 and welcomed their adorable first child in 2022.
