The Travelling Auctioneers will soon be back on our screens with a brand new series and it’s been confirmed that four new faces will be joining the BBC show.
The Travelling Auctioneers gears up for its third season, bringing new faces to the beloved daytime show.
The little blue van is set to traverse the UK once more, with The Travelling Auctioneers team on a mission to help families uncover and restore hidden gems, all in the hopes of turning them into cash.
Christina Trevanion, the original star, returns with a new role as the series’ narrator, joining forces with the familiar faces of JJ Chambers, Robin Johnson, and Izzie Balmer.
This season, they’re welcoming four new experts to the fold. Here’s the lowdown on the fresh talent joining the crew.
James ‘JB’ Broad
A ‘true’ antique aficionado since his tween years, James “JB” Broad now helms the auction scene as the manager and auctioneer at Whittaker and Biggs in Cheshire, where he regularly juggles over 1,400 lots per auction.
The 29-year-old, who has graced our screens on Antiques Roadshow and The Bidding Room, jumped at the chance to be part of The Travelling Auctions.
He shared his enthusiasm: “The chance to travel and meet incredible people while uncovering the stories behind their cherished possessions is something truly magical.
“I’m particularly looking forward to the excitement of the auctions themselves there’s nothing quite like the anticipation of finding out which items resonate most with buyers.”
Lauren Wood
Carpentry queen Lauren Wood clinched the title in the second series of Channel 4’s Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker in 2022, thanks to a nudge from her wife to apply.
Growing up, she was always fascinated by her dad’s DIY projects which led her to pursue a degree in cabinet-making and later teach woodwork at a secondary school for a decade.
Lauren expressed: “For me, being hands on and restoring things is a life skill that not only brings joy to myself and others but also means we as a nation can reuse products and save them from landfill, so I’m thrilled to be putting my passion into practice alongside this top team!”
Briony ‘Bee’ Harford
Bee has been hailed as a “rising star in the auctioneering world ” with over 12 years of experience, progressing from general valuer to head auctioneer. She was even sought after by fine art auctioneers Bonhams to lead its operations in Yorkshire and the North East.
Moreover, she made history by becoming the first woman in 40 years to take the rostrum at the Staffordshire Motorcycle Show in 2021.
“I love my job for many reasons, but the main one is helping people make a difference to their lives,” Bee shared. “I get no greater joy than unearthing treasures in people’s homes that they had no idea were worth anything, then selling them on the rostrum! “.
Saf Fakir
Restorer Saf Fakir operates his own woodwork studio in his hometown of Bradford where he crafts bespoke furniture. He’s no stranger to the small screen either, as fans of Quest’s The Woodland Workship will recognise Saf as the show’s resident expert.
The Travelling Auctioneer’s newest team member is keeping the family tradition alive, with skills that echo his father’s craftsmanship.
Saf expressed his excitement, saying: “I’m so humbled to join The Travelling Auctioneers.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to show how household items that most people would throw away can be totally transformed and given a new home.”
