Dick and Angel Strawbridge have shared a new career update away from their Channel 4 show Escape to the Chateau. The couple and their children are best known for appearing on the renovation show which aired in 2016, after they purchased a French castle in 2015.
The reality television series followed Dick and Angel as they renovated the 19th-century chateau in France. At the time they purchased the property, they were raising two young children and started a business hosting weddings and other events. In the latest update, the family made a podcast announcement. On Instagram, the joint account of the couple, said:
“Hello to you this wonderful Wednesday! After a little break from the world of podcasting, we’re back in the ‘Chateau Studio’ tomorrow. Recording and filming our brand-new podcast! Yes, that’s right…you wanted to see more of us, so we are now filming the full episode.
“We can’t lie…it honestly feels like having a date with each other and with you. If you’ve listened to our previous shows…you know there’s always a chance to ask questions and we’re opening the floor again. We can’t wait to hear from you. Have a lovely day.”
The exciting update comes after the hugely-anticipated announcement last year that the show was back in production for another series.
A statement said: “We are delighted to announce that we are officially back in production for Escape to the Chateau, Series 10!”It’s been wonderful welcoming back our Escape filming family — the unsung heroes behind the cameras.
Since we first fell in love with the Chateau in 2014, it has taken us on the journey of a lifetime.”Further detail about the show’s return, said: “For everyone eagerly awaiting an update: filming has wrapped, we’re now in the edit, and we promise that very soon we’ll be able to share more details about when the new series will be available in your country. It’s been over 11 years since the Chateau found us, and we still pinch ourselves every day as we turn the corner onto our drive.
”When the family announced they would be bringing the show back for another series, they said: “In 2022, we made the important decision to take a break from filming and concluded Series 9 with the most incredible and magical celebration we could have ever imagined.””Now, as a family, we’ve stepped into a new era. With Arthur and Dorothy happily settled into college, Series 10 brings more change and growth than the Chateau has ever seen!
“We promised that when the time was right for our family, we’d invite the cameras back in to give you an update — and maybe even a Christmas Special… and that time is now! Thank you for being part of our story — we can’t wait to share this next magical chapter with you.”Fans responded to the latest update from the family as they await the new podcast and the new series.
One comment said: “I think the big question we all want the answer to is… when do we get the new series?”Another comment was: “Yaaaaaay can’t wait!!!! Missed all of you and everything you created” and a further response included: “It would be lovely to hear about your time in Australia and places you visited while you were here doing the shows.”
Other replies included: “I’m looking forward to hearing your voices and your exciting stories. You are simply heartwarming.” and: “No other podcasts have filled the void on my commute to work since yours ended!
