Michelle Hardwick is celebrating a special occasion with her wife today. The actress is known for playing the role of hospital receptionist Lizzie Hopkirk in the ITV drama series The Royal and Vanessa Woodfield in the ITV soap, Emmerdale.
She has appeared in the fictional village since 2012, when she was introduced as the daughter of Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) and half-sister of Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh). It was on the set of Emmerdale that Michelle met her wife, Kate Brooks.
TV executive Kate, 42, previously worked as a series producer on Emmerdale, before being appointed as Coronation Street’s producer last year. They announced their relationship in 2018, on National Coming Out Day.
The happy couple flew off to Memphis for their marriage in September 2019. Sharing a photo of herself and her bride both wearing white and standing in front of Elvis Presley’s former home, Graceland, Kate wrote: “In over 100 degrees heat, on Tuesday 10th September, I became Mrs Brooks.”
It has now been six years since Michelle and Kate tied the knot. On Instagram Michelle shared some wedding throwbacks and pictures of the two together over the years.

Former Emmerdale actress Fiona Wade, said: “Happy Anniversary to you beautiful two! Love you both so much. These pictures are stunning!” Also an Emmerdale co-star, Amy Walsh posted: “Congratulations gorgeous girls! Feels like two minutes ago!”
Michelle has had an exciting week in her working life, as well as her personal life. It was announced yesterday, September 9, that she will be joining the short film ‘Through the Eyes of Bairns’. The film will be about growing up in the shadow of domestic abuse.
Announcing Michelle in the lead role of the movie, Eyes of Bairns Film posted to Instagram: “We’re super excited to reveal the first member of our cast! The very talented Michelle Hardwick @missmichellehardwick will be playing Rose.
“Rose has always had a strong moral compass but she’s thrown for a loop when her estranged father asks to see her on his death bed. Now happily married to her wife, Rose is a million miles from her difficult upbringing. She hasn’t seen her dad in over twenty years and if it was up to her she’d quite happily never see him again.”Will Rose gets the answers she needs? Will Rose get the apology she desperately wants? And even if she does, will Rose forgive her father?”
