Emmerdale are set to air a special episode on Tuesday, dedicated to April Windsor’s time on the streets, as her parents are finally given answers about her disappearance
Emmerdale is gearing up to air a special episode next week, focusing on the disappearance of April Windsor. The episode will reveal how the teen’s life took a drastic turn after she ended up living on the streets.
Fans last saw April getting into an unknown car, following a difficult period where she discovered the truth about her mum Donna’s death. There were earlier concerns that April might have been killed when a young girl clutching her purse was found stabbed. In recent events, her dad Marlon fears Anthony Fox may be involved in her disappearance, unaware that Anthony has been killed. After enduring months of anguish, Marlon and Rhona are set to finally get some answers about their daughter’s whereabouts from PC Swirling.

However, it’s still unclear whether April is dead or alive. On Tuesday, February 4, viewers will gain insight into April’s harrowing time ‘on the streets’ in a standalone episode.
Emmerdale producer Luke Shaw described the storyline as “a heart breaking depiction of life on the street as a teenage girl,” reports the Mirror.
The production team worked closely with Missing People to ensure they accurately portrayed the “agonising journey that April would go through.”

Luke praised Amelia Flanagan’s “outstanding performance,” calling the episode “one of Emmerdale’s stand out episodes of this year.” He went on to say: “It promises to start a new journey for the character of April, forever changed by her time living on the city streets.”
Emmerdale’s official social media pages also shared more about the upcoming storyline: “The flashback will depict April’s journey from having no luck finding somewhere to stay, to her life on the streets and the terrifying and heart breaking situations the young teenager found herself in.”
Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle in the soap, expressed his pride for the special episode. “It’s incredible and she’s incredible in it and it fills in all the gaps the audience have had so far. I’m really proud of the show for doing it.”
Following the reveal, fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts. One emotional viewer tweeted: “Not ready for April’s special episode on Tuesday,” alongside crying and heartbroken emojis. “Amelia Flanagan is going to be incredible. #Emmerdale,” they added.
Another tweeted: “What a cracking little actor to play a role like this at such a young age, happens to too many youngsters and adults.”
