Emmerdale viewers have watched as Dawn Fletcher, played by Olivia Bromley, has grown closer to Joe Tate. After a long affair with Joe, Dawn has had to make difficult decisions about her marriage to Billy.
Yesterday, fans of the show witnessed a huge moment for Dawn, as she made her choice between Joe and Billy. It comes after a decision from Joe earlier this week as he told Dawn he wants to be with her properly.
It has been a messy situation for everyone involved, including Kim Tate. She told Joe that Dawn “comes as a “package deal and a messy one, at that”.
Dawn met Joe in the woods and told him she had something she wanted to say to him. In an honest admission, she told him: “I need to know I can rely on you, that this is not some whim. You must know this is absolutely huge for me. And I have baggage. And I’m not just talking about the kids.”
The drama continued into tonight’s episode as the secret relationship remains kept from her partner Billy. Dawn shared her concerns with Joe saying she is “stressing out” about what the truth will do to Billy.
As Joe’s feeling develop further for Dawn, he urged her to have the conversation “soon” to get on with living the lives that they want. Some fans took to social media to share their thoughts about Joe’s real intentions.
Olwen wrote on an Emmerdale spoilers Facebook group: “I think Joe is using Dawn to get his feet firmly under Kim’s table. Dawn is her step daughter, so no matter how much Kim distrusts Joe, she will allow him and Dawn to stay.
“And Joe is determined to get his sticky paws on Home Farms and probably bankrupt Kim in the process. He will then drop Dawn and the kids in a heartbeat.”
A comment to the post was “He’s up to something really don’t trust him” and another said “Dawn you silly girl you need to wake up give your head a wobble he doesn’t want anything to do with you really he will hurt you in the end.”
In the same Facebook group, Shirley shared the same thoughts as she wrote “Think he may be after her part of the money will left behind to get home farm.. something like that ???????”
Charmaine added: “She thinks Joe is in love with her, but I think he has a hidden agenda, his face certainly said so after she told him she would leave Billy.”
Tonight’s episode saw the schemes of Joe begin to unravel. Earlier this year, Caleb Milligan was stabbed outside the depot of his company, before Joe plotted and succeeded to steal his kidney. It came after a previous transplant failed for Joe and his last chance for survival came from desperation.
After growing suspicious about the night of the attack, Caleb confronted Joe and accused him of stealing what belonged to him. He turned to Cain Dingle as he hinted towards a sinister turn of events, with Caleb asking if Cain wanted to “finish” the job.
