
Emmerdale actor Michael Parr has shared exciting personal news. The ITV star has revealed he is expecting a baby with his partner, sharing the news alongside a series of holiday photos and showcasing the baby bump.
Michael plays the role of Ross Barton on Emmerdale. He initially had the role from 2013 until his departure in late 2018 and recently reprised the role, returning to screens as part of a bare knuckle fighting ring. His character has quickly settled back into the village.
The 38-year-old and his partner Isabelle Du Plessis made the announcement earlier this week. The couple shared a joint post to Instagram, telling followers they were in a “new era” of life.
One of the photos showed Michael holding the baby bump and another was of words written in sand, they read: “MJP and IDP soon 2 B 3.” They added their initials as they shared the pregnancy news.
Co-stars of Michael sent messages of congratulations after he shared the news. Joe Tate actor Ned Porteous joked: “Adopt me” as Amy Walsh wrote “cute” alongside a red heart.
Sair Khan posted: “The best era!!! Congratulations guys!!!” Anthony Quinlan, who plays Ross Barton’s brother added “loads of love and congratulations” with red heart emojis.

Fans of Emmerdale also congratulated Michael and his partner. Lisa commented “And you have literally just said on Emmerdale we might be having a new addition to the family” and Jonathan added “Oh wow! Great news. Congratulations.”
Further responses were “Yesssss mate! So happy for you!” and “gorgeous girlie, handsome guy and many congratulations.” One fan commented on the appearance of the soon-to-be-parents, saying: “So happy for you both and you’re absolutely glowing.”
Michael shared his romance with his social media followers last year. Confirming he is was coupled up with Isabelle, the actor broke the news with an image of the pair cuddling in a photo in Santorini, Greece.
