Viewers were left in shock after Wednesday’s night episode (1 January) of EastEnders as Nish poisoned Eve and fell off a balcony with Nish, and its left fans saying the same thing
It was an explosive episode of EastEnders on New Year’s Day for the wedding of Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve (Heather Peace) as their day was interrupted by a surprise visitor. After escaping prison and hiding away in a derelict flat, Suki’s ex-husband, Nish Panesar(Navin Chowdhry), shockingly turned up to their wedding, and viewers were left saying the same thing after a series of events unfolded.
In true EastEnders style, the morning of the wedding started off well, with the bridal party getting ready and popping the fizz to celebrate the upcoming nuptials. But trouble was on the horizon as Nish, who is terminally ill, dressed up in a suit to crash the wedding, claiming he still cared about Suki and just wanted to see her happy.
The brides were able to say ‘I do’ before things took a terrifying turn when Eve suddenly struggled to breathe after a sip of champagne in their honeymoon suite. As Suki burst into tears and tried to help her wife, who fell to the floor, Nish turned up to reveal that he had poisoned her.
Nish tried to convince Suki that they should be together before the argument escalated to an outdoor balcony. Ravi appeared to help rescue his mum, only for Nish to grab Suki’s saree as they stood scarily close to the edge of the terrace.
Ravi attempted to push Nish to save Suki, but in another shocking twist, this saw them both tragically fall off the balcony. Viewers rushed to X, formerly Twitter, to air their predictions following the dramatic wedding revenge storyline.
One wrote: “Nish looks gone but Eve and Suki as well? Potentially triple deaths, all in one episode was something I wasn’t expecting.” A second shared: “Maybe nish is the reason that suki survives because she lands on top of him.” While a third noted: “Suki will be ok, she did a Lauren and had a soft landing.”
Another agreed: “Suki landed on Nish so I think she’ll be good but we need an update on EVE!!!” Someone also questioned: “Eve and Suki survive right? Right?!” and another said: “No way they’re killing off Eve.”
One viewer added their own theory: “I guarantee you somehow Nish will still survive and so will Suki, eve will die and this nish and suki storyline will continue until next New Year’s Day.” Another also noted: “I hope Suki isn’t dead but I’m sure she’s going out of EE. I really hope Nish hasn’t got his way.”
While we’re yet to find out who has passed away, viewers were left on the edge of their seats throughout the explosive wedding episode. One commented: “tf has just happened in eastenders im shell shocked actually…” A second added: “OMG! That Eastenders was absolutely edge of the seat stuff – poor Suki and Eve though.”
It comes after Tuesday night’s episode (31 December) saw Nish receive a suspicious-looking package and a taxi booking he subsequently made hinted at his sinister intentions. Nish had plotted to harm Eve in a final bid to prevent the wedding and split up the couple. When this plan failed, he returned home and asked his shady doctor for a favour, leading him to secure the poison.
