Disney announces the release date for its ‘shocking’ Caroline Flack documentary.

Caroline Flack took her own life

Disney+ has announced a release date for its highly-anticipated Caroline Flack documentary which promises to be full of “shocking” revelations.

The two-parter, Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth, is fronted by the late Love Island host’s mother, Christine Flack, as she attempts to discover the events that unfolded in her daughter’s last months of life.

At the peak of her career, TV presenter Caroline fronted The X Factor alongside singer Olly Murs and won BBC dance contest Strictly Come Dancing in 2014, but after her arrest in 2019, she found herself at the centre of a media storm which ended in tragedy.

The star took her own life in 2020 at the age of 40 while awaiting trial for the alleged assault of her boyfriend. A coroner ruled that her mental health had deteriorated following her arrest, with an inquest hearing that the presenter had been “hounded” by some of the media.

In the upcoming documentary, her mum Christine will revisit the events that unfolded prior to Caroline’s death. The documentary will feature access to the TV star’s “inner circle” as well as “exposing” failings behind the scenes.

A synopsis reads: “After her arrest in 2019, she became the target of a relentless media storm. Vilified in the press and online, her world spiralled – ending in tragedy when she took her own life.

“This powerful two-part Disney+ documentary follows Caroline’s mother, Christine, as she investigates the truth about her daughter’s final months – uncovering new shocking details, asking difficult questions, and exposing the misrepresentations, pressures, and failures from institutions and decision makers that shaped Caroline’s final days.
