Diogo Jota’s girlfriend was flooded with support as she issued an update about her son. The Liverpool striker came off the bench last night as the reds beat Tottenham 4-0 in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Liverpool were 4-1 winners on aggregate as they booked their place at Wembley. They will face Newcastle United in the final on March 16.
Jota is being phased back into the side after picking up an injury after Liverpool’s Premier League game against Nottingham Forest last month. Away from the pitch, the striker is in a long term relationship with Rute Cardoso.
The couple have three children together. Rute took to Instagram yesterday to celebrate their son’s fourth birthday. Rute posted a heartwarming picture of the pair kissing their son Dinis on the cheeks.
In the accompanying caption, Rute said “four years” and added emojis of a teddy bear and a blue love heart. The update received over 1,400 likes and many took to the comments to share their support to the family. Natalia Becker, wife of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, said: “Congratulations Dinis! May God bless you!”
Another fan said: “Happy fourth birthday Dinis, hope you have the best time celebrating.” A this person added: “Happy birthday Dinis, hope you had a great day.”
Rute gave birth to the couple’s third child last December. She announced the news via an Instagram post. The picture showed the new-born baby with a dummy in their mouth. The baby’s left hand was being held by Rute and Jota. The picture was captioned ‘26/11/2024,’ referring to their baby’s date of birth.
The pregnancy was announced back in summer 2024 when Jota put the ball under his shirt while celebrating a disallowed goal during a match in the Euros while he played for Portugal.
