Joe Sugg and partner Dianne Buswell will be welcoming a baby in the world next year. After finding out Dianne had never watched any of the Lord of the Rings movies, the YouTube star decided to share a number of themed names with his partner.
In a video clip uploaded to Instagram, Joe said: “Sam”, describing the name as a “nice one”, before Dianne said “no”. Another name suggested was “Theo”, Dianne wasn’t a fan of this name either. Gimli was also suggested, Dianne told Joe this name reminded her of a dog.
A name that Dianne liked was Faramir, she also liked Gandalf. Joe captioned the video: “Well I guess Faramir is going on the shortlist, along with Seagull and Acorn..” Strictly Come Dancing’s Dianne shared the clip to her own account and wrote “I really like the name”, alongside a hiding face emoji.
The Strictly Come Dancing professional announced her pregnancy with partner Joe Sugg on September 14. The news was announced in an adorable Instagram reel. The star met the YouTuber when they were paired together back in 2018 for the hit dance show, and their relationship has since blossomed.
The couple made it to the competition’s final before being beaten by fellow contestants Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton. Last month, Dianne shared a reel with Joe, captioned: “Our little baby boy [loveheart emoji] we cannot wait to meet you.” In the playful video, the pair were seen ‘painting’ three stick figures with ‘2026’ at the top of the drawing to Elton John’s Tiny Dancer.
Dianne previously told the Express that she never anticipated finding love on the BBC show. She said: “I feel like all the stars aligned with Joe. We’re just literally such similar people in so many ways. We’re very different in ways too, but just our personalities just click so, so well.
“I always think it’s so weird how we met and I feel like everything was just aligned in the right place, right time for both of us. It was pretty special.”
While back stage with her celebrity partner, Stefan, on launch night of Strictly a couple of weeks ago, the show was halted to throw Dianne a “surprise baby shower”. After hearing their score, Claudia Winkleman told Dianne: “Dianne, you know we love you, so I say this from all of us. Welcome to your baby shower!”
As balloons and a bassinet were gifted to Dianne with a giant teddy inside, with Justin Bieber’s Baby playing in the studio, Dianne thanked her co-stars.
She said: “That was very lovely, that was a ten second baby shower.” Dianne replied: “I love you all so much, thank you for being so supportive, I appreciate it, thank you.”
In week one, Dianne and Stefan, who is known for playing Paul Robinson in Australian soap opera Neighbours, scored 22 with their Foxtrot to the Neighbours theme song. Last weekend, the pair took to the dancefloor once more with their Cha Cha, earning 17 points in total from judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas.
