Dianne Buswell and partner Joe Sugg announced the news they were expecting their first child over the weekend. The couple, who met while partnered on Strictly Come Dancing revealed the exciting news with an adorable video.
A video of the two painting on a canvas was used as a pregnancy announcement, as they turned the canvas around there were two stickmen holding hands with a smaller stickman. Many messages of congratulations have since been sent to Dianne and Joe, from family, friends and fans.
The joint Instagram post was captioned “Our little baby boy. We cannot wait to meet you” and Elton John’s hit Tiny Dancer was played over the clip of the two painting.
This morning, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer shared a mirror selfie of her and Joe as she captioned it “mum and dad”, with a watery eye emoji and a red love heart.
The selfie comes after the couple spent a night in a hotel in London. Joe also shared photos from the hotel room as he wrote: “Surprising Dianne with a posh hotel for the night (especially as she came along to support me at our company’s summer party!)”, Joe said they had the “loveliest staycation” because he is an American Express card member and earned points through them.
The YouTube star also revealed he has been getting “some dad practice in” as he spent time with YouTube sensations the Sidemen at an Isle of Wight beach.
When Dianne and Joe shared the pregnancy news, the post was liked by over 615,000 people and thousands also commented. Vito Coppola, who has a close relationship with Dianne on and off-screen commented “The First Strictly Baby. Cannot wait to meet him and I promise to be the best crazy Italian uncle.”
Strictly judge Shirley Ballas commented “Ahhhh congratulations to you both @diannebuswell @joe_sugg, such beautiful news”, with a red heart emoji.
Strictly contestant for this year, Dani Dyer, responded “This is amazing, congratulations to you both” and dancer Gorka Marquez added “Oh this is the best news!!! BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH.”
The couple have been in a relationship together for nearly seven years, they first met on Strictly back in 2018. They became fan favourites when competing on the show and made it to the final, they didn’t win the competition but left a lasting impression. In 2021, they purchased their first home together.
Dianne previously told the Express that she never anticipated finding love on the BBC show. She said: “I feel like all the stars aligned with Joe. We’re just literally such similar people in so many ways. We’re very different in ways too, but just our personalities just click so, so well.
“I always think it’s so weird how we met and I feel like everything was just aligned in the right place, right time for both of us. It was pretty special.”
It has been a special month for the couple as they also celebrated Joe’s birthday earlier this month. To mark Joe’s 34th birthday, Dianne baked a cake.
She vlogged the baking process and captioned a video: “Bake @joe_sugg birthday cake with me. I would say it’s one of my finest pieces of work!”, seemingly impressed with her own work, the professional dancer tagged the official Great British Bake Off social media account.
The 36-year-old will be taking part in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, her celebrity partner has not yet been announced but the show will kick off on Saturday, September 20.
