David Beckham has expressed how proud he is of son Cruz as he watched him perform live on stage with his band, The Breakers. The band performed a small gig for family and friends with both David and wife Victoria Beckham in attendance to cheer him on.
The former England international shared a video of the 20-year-old singing and playing the bass guitar on stage, with blue and neon lights beaming on him. The post was captioned by the proud dad: “Family and friends night with Cruz, we are so proud of you mate we love you and the journey that you are on.
“Tonight was full of love & a few tears of joy and pride, Cruz Beckham and The Breakers, love you Cruzie.” Victoria also shared a clip of her song singing as she wrote: “Wow! You look so happy Cruz and we couldn’t be prouder we love you.”
Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel also turned out to support him and even hinted a debut album could be on the way. She wrote on social media “might it finally be time to drop what we’ve all been waiting for?”
Last month, Cruz’s band signed with music management company C3, who have previously worked with The Strokes. Cruz is the youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham.
David and Victoria welcomed their son Cruz in 2005 and he is one of four children. His siblings are Brooklyn, Romeo and Harper. Cruz regularly shares insights into his personal life on social media and has recently uploaded a snippet of himself on stage.
In a previous video uploaded by Cruz, he could be clearly heard singing “I wanna be John Lennon”, in a solo vocal performance. The lyrics teased were “Call me if you’re looking for some fun I’ll slip you through the needle of my eye. Love’s a word that money cannot buy lusting for destruction, just to find some satisfaction, turning evil into action for your love.”
His career path is different to his siblings, who have tested out many occupations over the years. Romeo was following in his dad’s footsteps as a footballer, but in September 2024 seemed to pursue a new venture in fashion like his mum.
The eldest sibling Brooklyn, has also tried out a number of careers over the years. He has released a photography book and has pursued modelling and even worked as a chef.
Under David’s latest Instagram post, comments of support were left for Cruz. One comment said: “Our little baby is a rockstar” and another said “Great voice that.”
Further responses included: “Wow! He is giving me John Lennon vibes” and “It’s an absolute tune. Can’t deny. Fair play kid.” Victoria also responded with a series of red heart emojis.
