McFly star Danny Jones and his wife Georgia have been open about their parenting journey after they welcomed their son Cooper back in 2018, with the pair sharing their ‘hard’ decision
McFly’s Danny Jones has been spilling the beans on why he and his wife Georgia have decided to stick with just one kid. Tying the knot in 2014, the couple welcomed their son into the world in 2018, with Danny sharing their bundle of joy’s arrival on Instagram, penning: “So overwhelmed with love, welcome to earth Cooper Alf Jones born today 1:36am.”
On a candid chat during the popular Parenting Hell podcast, 38-year-old Danny divulged why they’ve not expanded their brood beyond their seven year old son.
When asked if having just one child means a more serene life, Danny explained: “It is and it isn’t because, with only having one, I see Harry [Judd] with three and Tom [Fletcher] with three, and I see myself with one and it doesn’t make it any easier just having one.
The pop singer agreed with host Rob Beckett about single children constantly seeking parental attention, saying: “Exactly that, it’s ‘Daddy watch this, mummy watch this, come here can you sort this out?’ ‘Yes mate, no problem’. And you’re forever saying, ‘One sec’ and then when you ask him to do something he goes, ‘Yeah, one sec’.”

When co-host Josh Widdicombe discussed how his two kids scamper off to play on their own, Danny couldn’t quite connect, confessing he doesn’t have that luxury at home. With heartfelt frankness, he disclosed: “We don’t have that and, I think we’re done with one as well, yeah I think we are.
“We actually found it harder than we thought. We were like, ‘Let’s move to the country and have two or three [kids]’, and now we’re still very much in London with one kid.”
Remaining as a trio in their family unit seems to be right for them right now, with Danny saying: “It seems like it’s going that way, you know what it’s like, it’s trying to balance everything and I’m not very good at that.
“When I have one big thing to concentrate on, everything else is out the window.”
Following Danny’s truthful chat, his wife Georgia shared her own challenges of balancing her role as a mum with her influencer career. On her podcast Mum’s The Word, she confessed that catching herself scrolling through her phone while her little one, Cooper, was in the bath made her feel “terrible”.
“There are times when I don’t even realise I’m doing it, and then there are other times where I’m like, oh God, I feel terrible,” she disclosed. She expressed her concern about setting a poor example for Cooper, adding: “Like, it’s a bit s*** because I don’t want Cooper to remember his childhood with me just being on my phone all the time”.
