Cristiano Ronaldo has popped the question to his long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez, and the engagement ring has left fans completely stunned.
After nine years together, the football superstar, now 40, got down on one knee to propose to Georgina, 31. Speculation about an engagement first emerged when Georgina was photographed wearing a striking diamond. Whilst the pair had remained tight-lipped, Ronaldo previously admitted the timing was “not quite right”.
However, his feelings have now clearly changed after he proposed to his long-term love, reports the Mirror.

Georgina revealed the spectacular engagement ring on social media, where her 67 million followers were swift to react with complete amazement. In the picture announcing their engagement, the enormous diamond sparkled against white bedding as Ronaldo’s hand embraced hers.
Comments poured in, with admirers lauding the breathtaking stone, describing it as ‘the biggest ring ever made’ whilst others expressed their worry that it might get easily damaged considering its considerable size.
Jewellery expert Maxwell Stone remarked: “Georgina has been anticipating this jewellery moment for quite some time – and Cristiano certainly delivered.
“The footballer proposed with an extraordinary 30-carat oval-cut diamond, a true showstopper. To put this into perspective, while the average celebrity engagement ring boasts around 4 carats, the typical ring for everyday people is closer to 1 carat.

“The impressive centre stone is flanked by substantial side stones and almost certainly set on a platinum band. Known for its density, durability, and rarity, platinum is the most coveted – and most expensive – metal choice for engagement rings.
“With Georgina’s jewellery collection already valued at over $4 million, it’s hardly surprising that her engagement ring is, without question, the most spectacular we’ve seen so far this year. I’d estimate it to be worth around $10 million.”
Georgina couldn’t contain her excitement when sharing the joyous announcement, penning: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
The couple have two daughters together – Alana, seven, and Bella, three – while Bella’s twin brother Angel died during birth. Georgina has also helped raise Ronaldo’s other three children – Cristiano Jr, 15, and twins Mateo and Eva Maria, both eight.
The pair met in 2016 when Georgina was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. Speaking about their first meeting, she previously said: “I was finally able to leave the shop to go home three hours later than I should have, and as I was getting ready to leave Cristiano came in with his eldest son and some friends. Let’s just say it was butterflies in my stomach.”
Ronaldo also has been open about his love for Georgina. Chatting to Piers Morgan in 2019, he revealed: “She’s a fantastic person. Yes, it is true love. Yes, it was like magic meeting for the first time. Gio is part of me. She helps me so much.”
He added: “Of course, I’m in love with her. She’s the mum of my kids. I’m so passionate for her. She’s my friend, we have conversations. I open my heart to her.
“She opened her heart to me. She’s the greatest love of my life. Why not get married. Not now! Not in this interview. Why not, one day… We’ll one day, for sure. It’s my mum’s dream.”
The family are now based in Riyadh, where Ronaldo plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
