Steph Davis took to social media to share an emotional family update. The former Coronation Street star gave birth to her second child at the start of the year. She welcomed her son to the world with her ex-partner Joe McKalroy in January. The couple have since parted ways just months after giving birth to their first child together.

Joe took to social media at the time to announce the news that Steph had given birth. In a post on Instagram, he said: “Welcome to the world my beautiful baby boy Samuel McKalroy. Named after your uncle the one and only who will always weigh heavy on my heart I wish so much that he could’ve met you and cherished you as much as I do.

“It has been a traumatic experience but you are finally here in our arms. I never thought I could possibly love your mummy anymore than I already do but this is just so special and an unconditional love I cannot explain with words. @stephaniedavis88 I love you more than you will ever know.”

The baby boy is the soap star’s second child as she is also mum to Caben-Albi from a previous relationship. The 32-year-old from Prescot regularly shares updates from her life on social media.

She recently shared an emotional post to share the news that Samuel had said his first word. Taking to Instagram stories, the actress wrote: “Samuel has just said his first word!!!!! Momma [tearful eyes emoji]. OMG! I am so emotional.

“I Honestly cannot believe it. He’s my absolute world and I have done my absolute best for him as a mummy. In tears here. Everything I do is for you. It’s been hard on my own and this has just meant everything to me.”

Steph announced the pregnancy in August 2024. In a chat with OK! magazine, the 31-year-old expressed her joy about the new addition to their family.

She said: “I did the pregnancy test at my mother-in-law’s. I could not believe it. I’ve done a million tests over the past two years and videoed them. The one time I didn’t, it was positive!”

Fans replied to the birth announcement with messages of support. Paula said: “Oh amazing! I’ve been stalking Instagram for this, I’m so happy to see he’s arrived safely. Congratulations to you both!” And Lauren added “Congratulations guys! he is beautiful! Wishing Steph a speedy recovery, sending lots of love to you all! Enjoy the baby bubble.”

In June, Steph issued a statement to confirm she had split from her partner Joe. She said: “Never in a million years did I think I’d be writing this.

“I’ve been left with no choice but to address the rumours. This has come as a complete shock and has been an incredibly painful and unexpected time.

“Just four months after having a baby – one of the most vulnerable and emotional times in a woman’s life – I’ve found myself facing this chapter on my own.

“After everything I’ve been through in the past, I truly believed I’d finally found my happiness-something secure and lasting. But that, heartbreakingly, hasn’t been the case.

“I’m grateful for the years we had because without us I wouldn’t have my Samuel. Who will always be my priority. Right now, I’m focusing on healing. protecting my peace, and doing the best I can-being there for my two beautiful boys.”

She added, with her 980,000 Instagram followers: “Thank you to those who’ve reached out-your kindness has meant more than I can say Stephanie X”
