The Netflix star has teased a major life change with her husband, Mark Wright, after they welcome their first child into the world
Michelle Keegan has teased she could make a major life change in the future. The former Coronation Street star has emerged as one of the nation’s favourite actors with roles in Fool Me Once, Brassic and Our Girl.
The 37-year-old will return to our screens this weekend for the new season of Ten Pound Poms. The show is about the people from the UK who migrated to Australia after World War II.
Michelle admitted life could mirror art as she could would be up for moving to sunnier climes with her husband Mark Wright, who previously worked in Los Angeles for the US entertainment programme ‘Extra’.
She told the Radio Times magazine: “I would love to live in the sun one day, I’m such a baby in the cold. Mark was out there for two and a half years and I did go over for a few months at a time. I love the way of life.”
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star explained that she and Mark did their best to make the most of their time in Australia during her time working on the show – which returns to screens for its second series on Sunday (09.03.25).
Michelle said: “I soaked up as much as I could; we went to Palm Beach where they film ‘Home and Away’, Hunter Valley, which is the wine country and to the Sydney Opera House.”
If Michelle were to move to Australia in the future, it would be a big change for the whole family as she is currently pregnant with her first child with Mark. The two shared the joyous news at the end of last year in a snap featuring a picture of Michelle showing off her baby bump on the beach,
She said: “2025 is going to be a special one for us… [baby emoji. love heart emoji].” Michelle and Mark first met in Dubai at the end of 2012 and confirmed their relationship at the 2013 National Television Awards. Just nine months later, Mark proposed to Michelle during a trip back to Dubai.
Mark Wright shared his emotions with The Mirror following his engagement, saying: “I’ve got now, for the first time in my life, what I’ve always wanted and what every boy dreams of – affection in a relationship, love, best friend, a girl I fancy… everything rolled into one.”
The couple then proceeded to have a fairy-tale wedding at St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, celebrating afterwards at the grand Hengrave Hall.
