Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon has issued a sweet family update after her boyfriend’s major decision. The soap star, renowned for her role as Bethany Platt, is in a happy relationship with footballer Ryan Ledson.
The Scouser rose through the ranks at Everton FC before he left the Toffees to join Oxford in 2018. He made the move to Preston North End in 2018 and went on to captain the side.
However, the midfielder has revealed this week he is set to depart Deepdale after seven years when his contract expires this summer. Speaking about the huge decision, Ledson told the club’s website: “I’ve had the best seven years that I could have asked for. This club means so much to me.
“I want to thank everyone at the club, from the staff behind the scenes to the owner and Peter. “Thank you to the fans too for all the support you’ve given me over the years.
“I’m glad my last game for the club went as well as it did and I could have that moment with the fans at the end. I’ve absolutely loved my time here and I wish everyone at the club nothing but the best for the future.”
Ledson has been in a relationship with Corrie star Lucy since 2021. They regularly share updates from their happy lives together on Instagram.
They welcomed their first child into the world in 2023 when Lucy gave birth to their baby boy, Sonny. The couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Nancy, into the world in January.
Lucy took to Instagram after Ledson’s decision to leave Preston and shared a cute update of the footballer playing with Sonny in the garden.
Speaking about welcoming Sonny into the world, Lucy has previously said she has been forever changed by motherhood. She tol out sister site, OK!: “We can’t really remember life before Sonny – it feels like a blur.
“Sonny is the image of Ryan, especially when he’s grumpy! He’s too young for us to know his personality just yet, but he seems quite chilled overall.
“He only really cries when he needs his nappy changing, which Ryan has taken on as his nighttime job – he’s become a pro nappy changer!”
Ledson joked the couple agreed on Sonny for a name after he ruled out a number of quirkier ideas. He said: “When you’re from Liverpool, there was just no chance – he would get ribbed non stop. As the weeks were going on in the pregnancy, we were calling him Sonny.”
Lucy is currently away from her role as Bethany on maternity leave after she gave birth to Nancy. However, she is expected to return to screens later this year.
