Former Coronation Street star Luca Toolan has been celebrating his 21st birthday in style, sharing a heartfelt tribute to his mum and famous dad on social media.
The actor, known for his role as the troubled teen Mason Radcliffe on the cobbles of Weatherfield, made a dramatic exit from the ITV soap earlier this year following a gripping knife crime storyline that saw his character tragically stabbed by his own brother, leading to his death in emotional scenes.
Three months after leaving Corrie, Luca is looking completely different from his on-screen persona as he marks his big birthday.
He took to Instagram to share his gratitude towards his parents, especially praising his father, Mike Toolan, a well-known radio DJ on Hits radio, for being his inspiration.

In a charming Instagram post, Luca shared a picture with his dad, both sporting dashing moustaches, as they celebrated together.
The young actor expressed his appreciation for his supportive family and friends, captioning the photo: “Twenty flipping one. Genuinely feel so lucky to have such an incredible circle around me.
“From earlier school days to people I’ve met from acting recently, and everything in between. God bless you all.”
He added: “My old man thank you for being such a supportive role model and mum thank you for being you I love you both so much.”

Luca’s former Corrie co-stars left flurries of well wishes for the actor, with Simon Barlow star Alex Bain writing: “Sorry I’m so late! Hope you had a brilliant day! And I hope you got the bevs in too,” reports Plymouth Live.
Dylan Wilson star Liam Mccheyne stated: “Happy birthday pickle”, followed by a love heart.
Séamus McGoff, who played Matty Radcliffe, gushed: “Hope you had a lovely day mate!”
“Happy birthday brothaaaa”, added Charlie Wrenshall, who portrays Liam Connor Jr.
