Former Coronation Street star Vicky Entwistle has opened up about her latest stint on stage in Blackpool, starring in the highly praised family drama, Living the Life of Riley.

Best known for playing the unforgettable Janice Battersby, Vicky has expressed how fulfilling her new role is, stating that “if it’s the last thing she does”, she’ll be content.

Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, she shared a snap of the drama’s poster and the show dates, captioning: “Often you take a job that hurts, for the money… Rarely do you find a job that enriches you. This piece is so beautiful. If it’s the last thing I do I’ll be happy.”

Vicky shines on stage alongside talents like Leah Bell, Paul Dunn, and Alison Stanley. The drama, which earned rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, is now captivating audiences across the UK on tour.

In a candid tweet, Vicky also spoke about her financial status, saying: “I’m not a billionaire or a trillionaire, I’m just comfy. That said, when my pensions kick in I’m out of here! Anyone with half a brain would do the same. This country is drowning in its own friendliness!”

Hinting at a potential move abroad, Vicky’s comments sparked reactions from her followers. When one user quipped: “Can you take Keir Starmer with you?”

Vicky responded with: “He’s the one I’m running away from,” accompanied by laughing emojis, reports the Express.

The Lancashire-born actress, now 56, became a familiar face in households across the UK in 1996 when she took on the role of the outspoken Janice Battersby in the popular ITV soap.

After a 15-year stint as Janice, she decided to leave the show to pursue her passion for theatre.

Since bidding farewell to the cobbles, Vicky has showcased her acting prowess in a number of stage productions, including East Is East, Blackpool’s rendition of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves, and the West End production of Les Misérables, where she portrayed Madame Thenardier.

Vicky also made an appearance in the BBC’s daytime drama Father Brown and, in 2013, returned to our screens for the 12th series of Celebrity Big Brother.
