Coronation Street star Lisa George reportedly finds love with a businessman after her soap exit and stunning new look

Coronation Street's Lisa George 'finds love' with businessman after exit and new look

Coronation Street’s Lisa George, who played Beth Tinker on the beloved ITV soap for 13 years from 2011 to 2024, has discovered romance with a successful financial adviser following her body transformation and cosmetic procedure.

The 52 year old star decided to undergo invasive Blepharoplasty surgery earlier this year after spending years feeling self-conscious about her looks. The actress has now found happiness with her financial adviser partner, Martin.

Lisa is reportedly “thriving” with her new beau. They shared with The Sun: “Lisa has never looked or felt better – and her love life is thriving. She’s having a great time with Martin. It’s still early days but he’s started attending events with her.

“It’s the first time in ages she’s been happy to have someone by her side. Everyone is delighted for them.”

The smitten couple made their first public appearance together at a recent occasion in Manchester. They attended the Manchester Awards hosted at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, where Lisa looked stunning in a sparkly gold gown, reports the Mirror.

At the beginning of last year, she booked an appointment with a leading facial surgeon in Manchester, just as she was getting ready to say goodbye to the cobbles. During that period, the actress admitted that she would only apply certain makeup on screen to hide her eye lids.

Grimsby’s own Lisa has experienced a significant health transformation over the past year, thanks to a surgical intervention, and she’s finally happy with her reflection in the mirror. Alongside immersing herself in two history diplomas, Lisa – who showcased her skills on Dancing On Ice in 2020 – has also been managing a medical condition that has left her partially sightless in one eye and lacking peripheral vision in the other.

After years of seeking answers following her initial experience of vision loss in 2016, with another episode in 2022, she was diagnosed with NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy).

In an exclusive chat with The Mirror last month, she shared: “I feel like my eyes have stabilised at the moment. I can see distances absolutely fine, but I can’t see writing. All writing and numbers are really blurred, so I need glasses for reading, and for driving I have varifocals, so I can see the SatNav.

“I don’t like doing night driving because I have blind spots, but I think that’s also an age thing! If we were filming Corrie scenes on the pavement in the dark, I’d ask to be on the inside of the pavement because I couldn’t see the edge of the kerb.”

After deciding to tackle her health concern, Lisa spent a year building up the courage to book the £8,000 procedure, given the serious risks involved, including the possibility of losing her sight completely. She also revealed she’d been diagnosed with NAION – non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, a rare genetic eye condition that triggers sudden vision loss caused by reduced blood flow and oxygen to the optic nerve.

Reach has contacted Lisa’s representatives for comment.
