Coronation Street enthusiasts are in for a nail-biting week as a notorious villain breaks free from prison and makes a dramatic return to the cobbles.
Fans will remember Mick Michaelis being taken into custody earlier this year following the murder of police officer Craig Tinker. Since his arrest, his family has been grappling with life on the cobbles, with his wife Lou Michaelis feeling isolated as their two daughters spend time with Tim and Sally Metcalfe.
Adding fuel to the fire, it was recently unveiled that Kit Green is the biological father of Mick and Lou’s son Brody, the result of an affair they had years ago.
In a spoiler for next week, it’s revealed that Mick manages to escape from prison after discovering his family is falling apart and Lou is in trouble.
A special episode packed with drama follows Mick’s prison break and subsequent siege, as he demands his children be handed over, planning to flee with his family, reports Leicestershire Live.

The tense scenes show a restless Mick reading a message on his burner phone while Brody stops by No. 4 for Joanie and Shanice.
When Sally discloses that Tim is taking Joanie for a taster day at Weatherfield High, Brody conceals his alarm and covertly contacts Mick.
Simultaneously, Daniel Osbourne is gearing up for his interview at Weatherfield High.
However, Joanie’s taster day takes a turn for the worse when she becomes a target for bullies due to her parents’ situation. As she breaks down in tears, the school requests Sally to take her home.
Later, Daniel and Mrs Crawshaw are taken aback when they encounter Mick, who demands Joanie. They inform him that she’s already been collected, which prompts Mick to lock them in the office and make a swift exit.

Meanwhile, Lou, who is at the station, faces questioning about Mick’s escape, but she denies any knowledge.
After collecting Joanie from school, Sally invites her for a factory tour while the girls enjoy a pub outing. Concurrently, Mick makes his way to the street, with Kit hot on his heels….
What happens next remains a mystery, but later week spoilers hint at Kit needing life-saving surgery after his clash with Mick.
As his girlfriend Sarah Platt and mother Bernie Winter keep vigil by his bedside, will Kit survive?
And with no sight of Brody since the previous night, Bernie grows increasingly worried for her grandson. Has Mick managed to flee with his family?
Talking about the upcoming scenes, actor Joe Layton said: “He isn’t after revenge, this is about him wanting to get his family together and start a new life with them.
“The anger that we saw when he killed Craig has been replaced by desperation and love for his family, but that doesn’t make him any less dangerous. Kit is potentially putting his life on the line once more in his attempts to stop Mick.”
