Coronation Street fans think they’ve sussed out who’s set to take over Debbie Webster’s Chariot’s Square Hotel.
Recently on the cobbles, Debbie (played by Sue Devaney) has been grappling with some concerning symptoms, including memory lapses and work blunders, leading her to undergo dementia tests.
On top of this, she’s been snapping at those closest to her. Things took a frightening turn when she began experiencing blackouts, one of which resulted in a nasty fall.
A private doctor then warned Debbie that she might be dealing with young-onset dementia, leaving her terrified. But earlier this week, her worst fears were confirmed by a neurologist who diagnosed her with vascular dementia.

In gut-wrenching scenes, viewers were confronted with the harsh reality of the disease and the fact that there’s no medication available to treat it. Instead, Debbie, supported by her brother Carl (Jonathan Howard), was advised to maintain her cardiovascular health and cautioned against looking up life expectancy online.
Now, as Debbie’s tragic demise looms on the soap, fans are speculating about who will become the new proprietor of the Chariot Square Hotel.

The iconic hotel has been a fixture on our screens since 2018, particularly in recent episodes amid Debbie’s heartrending storyline, reports Leicestershire Live. She first took ownership in 2021 and has successfully run it ever since.
Whispers are abound that a familiar face might just become the new boss at the hotel. A Coronation Street Facebook fan page stirred up speculation, with one fan hinting: “I have a feeling Rosie or Sophie might take over Debbie’s hotel when she’s unable to work anymore.”

Another enthusiast chimed in with support: “Sophie and it could tie in with her return too!” Sharing similar sentiments, yet another fan expressed: “I would love it if it was Sophie or Rosie.”
Those who’ve kept up with their Corrie lore will remember Sophie (played by Brooke Vincent) and Rosie (portrayed by Helen Flanagan) as Debbie’s nieces, having grown up right before our eyes on the street as kids of Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Kevin (Michael Le Vell).
We last caught a glimpse of Rosie in 2018, while Sophie graced the cobbles more recently, in 2019.
