Wayne and Coleen Rooney are the proud parents of four boys. Their first son Kai was born in 2009, followed by Klay in 2013, Kit in 2016 and youngest child Cass in 2018. The family celebrated their eldest son’s birthday yesterday, November 2.
The former Everton forward and his wife sent loving messages to their son Kai to mark the special occasion. Coleen shared a picture alongside Kai and Rooney as they spent time in a restaurant together. She captioned the post “Happy 16th birthday Kai, I love you so much and wish you all the happiness in the world.”
A post from Wayne for Kai uploaded by the former striker yesterday, was captioned: “Happy 16th Birthday Kai. Love you mate.” Birthday messages were left for Kai from fans and friends of the family.
UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett commented “Happy Birthday” alongside two confetti emojis and former Olympic champion Mo Farah showed his support with a red love heart emoji. One comment focused on the footballing abilities of Kai, which said: “Happy 16th baller.”

The Rooney children appear to be following in their dad’s footsteps and have taken a keen interest in football. Kai has been called up to the Manchester United under-19s squad this year and has impressed, scoring a number of goals.
Kai has been with the United academy since the age of 11. He joined the Red Devils youth set-up in 2020.
Rooney recently told BBC that his son, Kai, handles the pressure of having the name “Rooney” on the back of his United shirt incredibly well, and takes everything in his stride as a teenager looking to improve every single day.

The Premier League legend said: “He has great coaches at Manchester United, so I take a stand off approach.
I speak to him, but for me it’s all about his mentality and his mindset, to make sure he keeps enjoying it – that’s the main thing for me.”
While in the jungle last year, Croxteth-born Coleen opened up on having four boys. She said to other campmates: “I would’ve liked a girl for Wayne, I wasn’t desperate, he would’ve liked a girl, I wasn’t bothered either way.”
The family have a strong connection and while Coleen was competing on the show, Wayne and the boys supported her all the way. During her time in Australia, Wayne shared a ‘vote Coleen’ poster to his story.
The former Everton forward wrote: “She’s done unbelievable and got a lot further than she thought she would. We’re proud of her and want to see her go all the way now.”
Coleen finished the series in an incredible second place.
