Claudia Winkleman has become known for her quirky winter wardrobe while presenting The Traitors, and one of her staple accessories for any outfit is fingerless gloves
The Traitors kicked off the new year with a bang, returning for its third series on New Year’s Day. The BBC One show has already got fans buzzing with theories on social media. But it’s not just the drama and suspense that’s catching viewers’ attention – Claudia Winkleman’s unique winter wardrobe is also turning heads.
From stylish tweeds to capes and cosy knits, Claudia knows how to rock the castle look. One of her signature accessories? Her famous fingerless gloves. While they might seem an unusual choice for a presenter, they actually serve a practical purpose. Speaking about her fashion choices on BBC Radio 2, Claudia revealed: “I want a fingerless glove and I want eye make-up that looks like I’ve slept in the skip.
“I tell you what I’ve always wanted to look like and, once I worked it out, I was like ‘I’m going with this’. I wanted to look like a male, mature French student. It’s true. Let’s call him Jean, right?”
This video has since been viewed over 200,000 times, with fans praising Claudia as an “icon” and expressing their love for her personality and style.
But why would anyone choose to wear fingerless gloves while filming in the Scottish Highlands? Turns out, there could a clever reason behind it, reports the Mirror. Fingerless gloves are designed to protect the hands and wrists, while also allowing the fingers to be open for use. In turn they help keep the hands warm without limiting what the fingers can do – ideal for working on set.
This means you can also type or use a phone while wearing them. In Claudia’s case, maybe they hands toasty while also enabling her to get to work around the castle. Obviously, they can just be used as a fashion accessory too, although it’s natural to question what the purpose of fingerless gloves actually is when they’re meant to keep your hands warm.
It comes as the first episode of series three had viewers at home hooked thanks to an unexpected twist, just minutes into the show. With 25 contestants in the original line-up, three unsuspecting stars were dumped from the show before even making it to the castle in the Scottish Highlands.
After boarding a train to take them to the iconic location, Claudia announced that one contestant from each carriage of the train would be dumped in order to add money to the jackpot. As a result, the brutal twist saw Fozia, Jack and Alexander kicked off the train, adding £7,000 to the final prize.
