Claire Sweeney will be celebrating a special occasion with her son this weekend. The Coronation Street actress and her son share a close bond together and the proud mum often shares the memories they make together on social media.

This week, the soap star took her son Jaxon to see the musical “Wicked” in London. A photo shared by Claire on Instagram was a selfie of the mum and son. They smiled as they held Wicked-theme drinks, Claire had a green cocktail with pink candyfloss and Jaxon had a green slushy drink.

This week is a special week for the family as Jaxon will celebrate his birthday on Monday, he was born on September 29 2014. Claire shared a selfie of the two to her story this afternoon as she captioned it “Birthday weekend for my boy”, alongside a red love heart emoji.

The 54-year-old actress, who found fame as Lindsey Corkhill on Channel 4’s Brookside, welcomed Jaxon into the world with her former fiancé Daniel Riley. However, Claire and Daniel decided to call it quits on their relationship just nine months after their son’s birth.

Claire had her little boy at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital. The TV star previously told Mirror Mums: “I’m glad I’m a mum at a stage in my life where I’m still in good health but also have the wisdom of having learned a few life lessons. Being older, I don’t stress over the little things.

“In fact, I cherish every moment with Jaxon. He’s my miracle boy – I never thought I’d be a mum at the age of 43 but here he is and it’s the best thing to ever happen in my life.”

After giving birth to Jaxon, she opened up on the two miscarriages she has had. She said: “I suffered two really heartbreaking miscarriages before Jaxon was born. Nothing prepares you for the sense of loss but I was determined to keep trying.”

It has been a difficult month for Claire after the death of her ex-boyfriend Ricky Hatton. Sharing a tribute to social media, she wrote: “I’ve needed a few days to process the devastating news about my dear friend Ricky. My thoughts are with his family especially his children Campbell, Millie Fearne and Lyla, his granddaughter.

“To them, Speaky and to all his friends who loved him so deeply and for so many years I send you my deepest sympathy. Ricky, you were the people’s champ. We adored and cherished you. Love you always.”

Ricky was found dead at his home in Greater Manchester on the morning of September 14. His death is not being treated as suspicious. He was the dad to three children.

Ricky’s family have today shared details of his funeral plans. It comes almost two weeks after Ricky was found dead at his home in Gee Cross.

Hyde-based funeral director Frank Massey and Son Ltd has shared initial details of the arrangements on behalf of the family. A service celebrating Ricky’s life will take place at Manchester Cathedral at midday on Friday, October 10.

Fans will have the chance to pay their respects as the funeral procession makes its way towards the cathedral, with the proposed route due to be confirmed prior to the event.
