Just weeks after he exited the Celebrity Big Brother house, Chris Hughes has been rumoured to have signed up to take part in E4’s Celebs Go Dating after a fellow TV star dropped out.
Chris, 31, who found fame on ITV2’s Love Island, was allegedly gearing up to replace Christine McGuinness on the E4 reality show after she decided not to take part at the last minute.
However, Chris has since addressed the reports and shut down the speculation, confirming he is not going on Celebs Go Dating.
He responded “nope” to a fan on X when asked if he was one of the celebrities taking part in the new series.
According to reports, TV bosses were keen to sign Chris up for the series but he declined the offer.

It’s said that Chris opted not to take part as he decided that Celebs Go Dating isn’t the right opportunity for him right now, according to The Daily Mail.
Stars taking part in Celebs Go Dating 2025 include Atomic Kitten’s Kerry Katona, Too Hot To Handle’s Louis Russell, Love Island’s Olivia Hawkins and S Club 7 star Jon Lee.
Mum-of-three Christine had started filming for the E4 programme in Ibiza, but ultimately decided it wasn’t the right time for her to take part following her split from husband Paddy McGuinness.
In a statement, Christine penned: “I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me. They’ve said the door is always open for me, which I’m so grateful for, but for now I’m returning home to my family.”
Elsewhere, a spokesperson for Celebs Go Dating said: “We have loved having Christine on the show and completely respect her feelings and decision to return home and have told her that the door is always open for her in the future at the agency.”

Chris made it to the final on Celebrity Big Brother 2025, which was won by Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd, with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Danny Beard in second place.
Chris hit the headlines during his time on the ITV reality show due to his close friendship with US star JoJo Siwa, who he formed a strong bond with.
