Celebrity Big Brother’s Jack P Shepherd has left his fellow housemates in fits of laughter with a surprising revelation about a Coronation Street icon.
The actor, who plays David Platt on the soap, was chatting about the longest-serving soap stars with EastEnders’ Bianca Jackson actress Patsy Palmer.
As Patsy shared that June Brown, who is well known for her role as Dot Cotton on the BBC soap, worked well into her 90s, Jack highlighted that William Roache, still filming as Ken Barlow, is 93.
This left their fellow housemates gobsmacked and eager to hear more tales about these familiar faces.
It was at this point that Jack dropped the bombshell that despite working together for 25 years, Bill still refers to him as David.
This revelation came after Jack shocked housemates by suggesting that if Bill had passed away during their time in the house, he wouldn’t have been aware.
The housemates argued that he would have been informed, given their long working relationship, which led Jack to point out that the Ken Barlow legend still doesn’t call him Jack.
He then did a hilarious impression of the actor, leaving the housemates in stitches. Jack has been playing David Platt on the ITV soap for 25 years. Meanwhile Bill has been part of Coronation Street since the very first episode in 1960.
He even holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running TV soap star. It didn’t take long for viewers to share their reaction on X, formerly known as Twitter as one fan said: “JACK TALKING ABOUT KEN BARLOW ANSHDBJZNX #CBBUK.”
Another wrote: “I just choked at Jack saying Ken Barlow could be dead while he’s in the house. I can’t with him #CBBUK.”

At 93, the actor is still involved in some major storylines on the soap. His character Ken recently discovered Cassie Plummer’s scheme to poison him, following a heart attack.
Cassie had been employed as his carer and wanted to keep him ill so that he would continue to depend on her, ensuring she kept her job.
However, the plot thickened when she started to rob him. Her secret was eventually exposed and she was ostracised from the community, while Ken made a complete recovery.
Recently, actor Bill was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to Coronation Street.
