Celebrity Big Brother star Danny Beard has opened up about a rather awkward blunder that happened while using Ozempic. The medication is used to treat type 2 diabetes and help manage blood sugar levels.
Last year, Danny purchased Ozempic privately due to his lifelong struggle with weight and eating issues. Speaking on the podcast It Can’t Just Be Me with Anna Richardson, Danny, 32, admitted the initial difficulties with symptoms included; light-headedness, dizziness, and constant nausea.
He recounted: “It takes a little getting used to as well, because, you know, the light-headed, dizziness, feeling nauseous 24/7. For the first week I did it, I was like, ‘I don’t think I can do this again’, but then got on the scales and was like, ‘Oh my God I’ve lost four and a half pounds, give me the jab’.
“That’s the pullback, that’s the, you are going to do this again. I feel like I’m putting people off it, but I just want to be honest.” While Danny celebrated the weight loss, he said his partner noticed how “miserable” he had become.
Additionally, he faced problems with his digestive system, which led to an embarrassing episode. Sharing more about the symptoms he faced, the RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner added: “You’re either backed up, constipated, or you have overflow diarrhea, they call it.
“I got back two weeks ago from a gig, fell asleep on the couch, a lovely new cream couch, just to put it into perspective, and woke up in a puddle of this backlog, and I’ve s**t the bed with my boyfriend [next to me].

“I mean I’ve only been with him for a year, it’s a good job he fancies me and loves me because I’d f*****g run for the hills if my boyfriend was s******g himself on the [regular].”
Quizzed of what he believe are the pros of taking the medication, he added: “I’m not eating… like I eat and I am losing weight, and everybody that I meet says, ‘Oh my God, you look amazing’ and I’ve had a life of not having that, and it makes me feel like, ‘Oh, I am valued, I am attractive, I have got some kind of value’. It’s awful to say, but it’s the truth.”
According to Diabetes UK: “Ozempic is only prescribed to people who have a Body Mass Index, known as BMI, of 35kg/m2 or more and have additional psychological or other medical conditions that are related to obesity.”
The NHS advises anyone concerned about their weight to consult with their GP for safe and effective management. The general rule of maintaining a healthy weight is to follow a balanced diet and take part in regular exercise.
Meanwhile, Betway suggests that Danny is the favourite to win Celebrity Big Brother tonight with odds standing at 2/5. Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd is trailing in second place with odds of 2/1, while JoJo Siwa is expected to finish third with odds of 8/1.
