Nikita Kuzmin has explained why he is relieved to not be involved in this year’s Celebrity Big Brother. The Strictly Come Dancing star appeared on the first edition of ITV’s star-studded reality show last year.
The 27-year-old progressed all the way to the final in the ultimate social experiment last year. Nikita finished in second place as he was narrowly beaten by Ibiza Weekender star, David Potts.
The dancer has reflected on his experience in the Big Brother house last year in an exclusive interview with the ECHO ahead of tonight’s final. Season two of Celebrity Big Brother has been rocked with a number of controversies as Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke was axed from the show after Big Brother deemed his language and behaviour as “seriously unacceptable”.
Nikita said the drama that has rocked the house this year makes him glad he appeared on the show last year when he said the mood in the house was a lot different. He told the ECHO: “I was very lucky to be on a season when there was a bit less drama than this year.
“This year has been very dramatic, a lot of controversy. A lot of stuff happening. I feel very lucky to have been in a house when I had lots of friends, lots of people to chat to.
“[This year] there’s a lot going on and it could have potentially been a bit too much for me. Although it’s very interesting to see it now as a viewer.
“We somehow naturally gelled.” Nikita spoke to the ECHO as he brings his new tour show, Midnight Dancer, to the Liverpool Empire next week.
Nikita lived in the city while he trained Sam Quek on last year’s Strictly Come Dancing – and he is looking forward to return to the region he has such fond memories of.

He said: “Liverpool will forever be in my heart and I had such a good time living there. I cannot wait. I literally feel like I’m going to have a party with the whole Liverpool crowd and that’s actually the aim of the whole show.”
He added: “The show in itself is quite dramatic. It does have a sort of Cinderella storyline. It’s a story of love, of betrayal, hope and pain. But we break it up with a lot of banter, laughter and really impressive dancing.
“It’s a good night out. My highlight of the whole tour is just seeing people smiling, dancing and singing the night away together. Having this feeling of love in the crowd is the most beautiful feeling.”
Tonight’s Celebrity Big Brother final gets underway at 9pm on ITV. The final will see Chesney Hawkes, Chris Hughes, Danny Beard , Jack P Shepherd, Jojo Siwa and Donna Preston battle it out to be crowed winner.
