This City Is Ours fans were wowed as they heaped praise on the same detail. Another episode of the hit Liverpool-set drama will return to our screens tonight.
Viewers patient enough to watch the new BBC crime show weekly will have their chance to watch the latest instalment at 9pm tonight. The sixth episode of the eight-part drama will explore the fallout after Michael Kavanagh and Jamie Phelan agreed to a winner-takes-all fight.
The enemies decided to settle their differences in a cage fight to see who would lead the gang after the death of Jamie’s dad, Ronnie. They agreed to the bout so no unnecessary extra lives were lost as would have happened if the gang war started that was teased in last week’s episode.
The programme, which stars James Nelson Joyce and Jack McMullen in the lead roles, has been hugely popular with fans since it debuted on screens on March 23. Many aspects of the show have been singled out for praise such as the performances and the cinematic way Liverpool has been on screen.
However, other viewers have taken to praise another details as they lauded the soundtrack for the show. Melanie said: “Absolutely loved its. Best series I’ve watched in a long time. James Nelson-Joyce is unreal! Also, the soundtrack was amazing!”
Carrie added: “The soundtrack to #thiscityisours. That’s what you call music.” Eileen posted: “This is really worth it for the soundtrack alone.”

Melanie said: “Best TV drama I’ve watched in a long time. Was hooked from the 1st episode and binge-watched the rest of @BBCiPlayer. The storyline, casting and soundtrack were brilliant and the road I live on was the location for a couple of scenes 10/10”
Andy commented: “Just finished #thiscityisours is a great series, but what’s best is the music in it and have had the House of Bamboo stuck in my head for the last few days.”
The soundtrack has provided the show’s most viral moment so far with George Gallagher’s version of House of Bamboo by Andy Williams. Many people have taken to TikTok to perform their own version of the line dance that appears in episode one.
Other notables songs that feature on the soundtrack for this season include Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood by Nina Simone and A Little Respect by Erasure.
