Strictly Come Dancing’s Gorka Marquez has been flooded with messages of support as he shared a career update. The dancer has been a key member of the cast since he joined the show in 2016.
Gorka competed on the last season of the BBC show with Dr Punam Krishan and they lasted until week six of the competition. The 34-year-old has followed up his stint on the show with a UK tour, alongside fellow dancer Karen Hauer.
The show has toured across the country and stopped off at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on March 4. However, Gorka has now confirmed the show has come to an end as he shared snaps from the performance in London’s West End, which brought the curtain down on the tour.
Taking to Instagram, he said: “One last time. Excited. Grateful. Thank you to everyone who came to watch. THANK YOU. Dale chamina @karenhauer”
Gorka’s fellow Strictly stars took to the comments to share messages of support as he prepares to take a well earned break. Lauren Oakley said: “Stars.”
Johannes Radebe added: “Hope you had a blast.” Helen Skelton, who was teamed up with Gorka on Strictly 2022, shared a series of raised hand emojis.
Gorka is taking a well earned rest with his partner, Gemma Atkinson, and their two children. Gemma shared a snap on Instagram of the two together as the former Hollyoaks star said: “He’s arrived. Reunited after three weeks.”

Gorka will likely next be on screen when he appears on Soccer Aid on June 15. He has also been confirmed for the next season of Strictly Come Dancing.
The line up of professional dancers for the 2025 season was announced last week. Gorka was excited to be included.
He said: “STRICTLY 2025. Excited to be back for my 10th Series! Let the countdown begin. Ps: @bbcstrictly get those PVC trousers ordered in every colour.”
He will be joined by Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Aljaž Škorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC said: “The Strictly Professional Dancers are the beating heart of the programme, showcasing to viewers in every corner of the UK their world class talent by lighting up the famous Strictly ballroom every Saturday and Sunday night.
