Actress Eleanor Tomlinson has announced that she and rugby player husband Will Owen have welcomed their first child. She shared the news on social media with her large following of over 279,000 people.
The couple, who tied the knot in July 2022, uploaded a photo of a tiny baby hand wrapped around a finger. The Poldark star and athlete husband captioned it with a red heart emoji.
They had announced in October 2024 that they were expecting a child, sharing an image of baby clothes with “baby Owen” on the front. Eleanor also wrote: “Can’t wait to meet you, little one.”
Eleanor is best known as Demelza, a runaway in the 18th Century-set period drama who falls in love with Cornwall landowner and ex soldier Ross Poldark, played by Aidan Turner.

She has also starred in BBC sci-fi, The War Of The Worlds; BBC comedy The Outlaws; and Channel 4 thriller The Couple Next Door. Her film work has included biopic Colette starring Keira Knightley; Vincent Van Gogh movie Loving Vincent and romantic comedies Love Wedding Repeat and Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging.
The 32-year-old married Owen at the Euridge Manor in Chippenham, Wiltshire, in 2022. She wore a stunning off-the-shoulder traditional Provonias gown with Christian Louboutin heels as she posed for pictures in the grounds of the stunning property. At the time, she wrote: “When a Miss becomes a Mrs. I love you. The best weekend of our lives.”
Fans of the BBC star sent loving messages as the proud parents shared the news. One comment said: “Such a beautiful photo. Heart melt!!” A second wrote Awwww so tiny! Congratulations both, magical next chapter.”
