BBC Dragons’ Den Star Overjoyed After Family News: ‘My Heart Might Explode’

Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies has shared some exciting family news. The Dragon recently stepped away from the BBC show after first appearing on the show in 2019.

Although Sara won’t be on our screens as regularly as she has been, fans can still see the entrepreneur on social media. She boasts over 600,000 Instagram followers and her recent update has been met with an influx of love and support.

This afternoon, the BBC star posted a photo of her sister and new-born niece. She captioned the picture: “So last week we had the news….. I became an auntie again!

“My sister and her husband welcomed gorgeous little Hallie Susie Goddard into the world last Wednesday at 9.29am weighing 8lb4oz. Mam and baby are both doing amazing – our Gracie is absolutely smitten and the boys are in love with their new little cousin.

“I’m so happy right now I feel like my heart might explode.” The selfie of the sisters with the new-born was among a series of other pictures as the family welcomed Hallie.

Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara commented “Ooooooo these photos!!!!” Thanks to appearances in Dragons Den, Strictly Come Dancing and The Wedding Planner, all on the BBC, the business mogul has grown her profile over the years.

The BBC star appeared on Strictly in 2021, before appearing on the show, she said: “When I got on the panel of Dragon’s Den, alongside Deborah Meaden, she would talk about it all the time and people would say to me ‘you might be asked to go on Strictly next!’, and now here we are!”

She became the seventh contestant eliminated from the show. Sara and Aljaž found themselves in the Dance Off facing Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin, who were kept in.

Other comments left on the Instagram post included “oh my goodness- cuteness overload. Hugs to your sister and congratulations. Alicia x” and “Oh bless her congratulations to you all hun , how gorgeous.”

Further responses were: “Such lovely news Sara, congratulations. Another girly to spoil” and “Gorgeous little Hallie, congratulations to all xxx.”

Sara married her childhood sweetheart Simon in 2007, he joined her business Crafter’s Companion as the company’s managing director a year later. The couple share two children together, Charlie and Olivier.

The businesswoman joined as the youngest female Dragon to have ever featured on the show, aged 35. Announcing her departure earlier this year, she wrote: “As this last run of Dragons’ comes to an end I have to say I’ve loved every minute of this series so far and I’m so proud of the businesses I’ve invested in this year!”

“As a lot of you will know, I’ve taken up my position again as CEO of Crafter’s Companion and my business is my big priority this year. And when I commit to a business, I really commit, which is why I find Dragons’ Den such a rewarding role.”

Finishing her message, she wrote: “Sending so much love to my fellow Dragons and the amazing team behind it all. In the meantime, you can still catch me in the second half of this series of Dragons’ Den later in the year – it will not disappoint!”

Along with her company Crafter’s Companion, she also created the Enveloper, a tool which creates bespoke envelopes for handmade cards. By the time she graduated, the Enveloper was turning over £500,000.
