Liz McClarnon has shared the first precious photo of her newborn son with husband Peter Cho, marking a milestone moment after a brutally long and emotional battle with infertility.
The Atomic Kitten star, 44, revealed earlier this month that her baby boy had arrived ahead of schedule. Despite calling the birth “a bit scary,” she reassured fans that everything was fine, even posting a thumbs-up selfie from her hospital bed.

On Thursday, Liz returned to Instagram with a series of tender black-and-white photos, explaining that the day had actually been her son’s original due date. One picture showed her sitting in a hospital bed cradling her newborn moments after delivery, while another captured proud dad Peter carrying their little boy out of the hospital in a baby carrier. A third photo showed Liz cuddling her son, dressed in a personalised cardigan reading Baby McCho — a charming blend of her and Peter’s surnames.

In her caption, Liz described the moment her waters broke unexpectedly at 4am, calling the experience “overwhelming,” while praising the NHS staff who acted immediately when her baby’s heart rate dropped. She said the team “blew us away with their professionalism and care,” adding that she and Peter were “so grateful.”
The singer also openly reflected on the emotional weight of finally becoming a mother, having endured eight rounds of IVF in just three years, alongside multiple failed cycles and two devastating miscarriages.

She wrote: “Today was our little bun’s actual due date. I can’t believe he came so early, over ten days ago. He gave me quite a shock at 4am when my waters broke… It all got a bit scary when his heart rate dropped, but the amazing NHS staff whipped into action. We’re so grateful.”
Liz added a final nod to her long journey, saying she “had to include the classic partner-walking-out-of-hospital-with-the-carrier picture — we’ve waited a long time for this.”
Liz and Peter began their IVF journey shortly after meeting four years ago, aware of her age at the time. But the process was far from easy: the couple faced three failed embryo cycles in 2023, followed by two miscarriages in 2024. “The first time we did it, I thought, ‘This will be it,’” she previously told The Mirror. By the third cycle, she admitted she was “in a dark hole,” both mentally and physically.

After sharing her IVF journey with fans earlier this year, Liz announced her pregnancy in May with a moving Instagram video, turning to reveal her growing bump as she told followers: “After years of painful IVF and some very dark times, I’m pregnant. We feel like we’ve been given the world.”
Her fellow celebrities flooded her page with love. Natasha Hamilton wrote: “Literally couldn’t be happier for you both! After all you’ve been through, this little miracle is everything.” Michelle Heaton added: “So unbelievably happy for you… the road has been unkind, but look at you now.”
Liz and Peter married in 2023 in the Lake District, surrounded by loved ones — though she only revealed his identity a year later. Before Peter, Liz was previously engaged to Blue singer Lee Ryan and later dated rugby player Ryan O’Neill, and has long been open about waiting for the right partner before embracing motherhood.
Now, after years of heartbreak, medication, setbacks and hope, Liz has finally welcomed her long-awaited miracle — and shared him proudly with the world.
