“Amanda Holden Left Shocked as Alan Carr Digs at Her ‘Tacky Taste'”

Amanda Holden and Alan Carr appeared on Friday’s episode of The One Show

TV favourites Amanda Holden and Alan Carr returned to our screens in style this Friday evening, 24 January, with their latest project on BBC’s Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job.

The pair have taken up the challenge of bringing life back to a Spanish property left vacant for over three decades. This follows their two successful series of revamping Sicilian and Tuscan properties in Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job.

Before their new show’s premiere, the comedy duo joined the couch on BBC’s The One Show with hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp to dish out the details about their renovation adventures.

Curiosity peaked when Alex prodded about whether their new home improvement quest led to any arguments, she said: “So do more rooms equal more arguments?” It was then that Alan dropped a cheeky bombshell, admitting: “Well… yeah. We did argue about the big bedroom because her taste is quite tacky”, reports Wales Online.

The studio couldn’t contain themselves as they burst out laughing as Amanda said: “It’s not tacky. I’m very RuPaul in my taste!” Alan jabbed further: “I get so many letters from people but I can’t reply to all of them. They say ‘what is she thinking, it’s disgusting and it’s like the 80s have vomited.'”

A stunned Amanda was quick to hit back with: “This is outrageous, no it’s not!” Pointing out Alan’s décor choice, Amanda pointed out: “Well he wanted a bidet in our last house, a bidet I tell you!”

Alan defended his choice as he jumped in: “I love a bidet” to which Amanda said: “Sorry to anyone that has got one but no.” Moving the conversation on, Roman turned to Amanda and pointed out: “You’ve made a certain something about Alan’s tea breaks.”

Amanda replied: “Oh crikey.” Alan then joked: “Oh that’s my worst fault having a brew.” Clearing things up Amanda said: “It’s not” to which Alan insisted: “I drink so much tea. I just love tea so much.”

Amanda added: “It’s just too much tea we have to stop on the hour, every hour for tea so this year we got him a flask so we can sit on the beach with your tea.” Everyone burst into laughter as Alan joked: “The show is interesting by the way.”
