Amanda Holden has revealed the ‘horrific’ sight she encountered after moving into her idyllic new home, while discussing her moving day woes.

The BGT star spoke candidly with Jamie Theakston during their daily Heart Breakfast show yesterday (March 10), as she reflected on moving house in 2023. She recalled how she enlisted the help of organisation experts, Style Sisters to tackle the chaos. Amanda explained: “Obviously I moved house a year ago, and the girls (Style Sisters) came round and I literally sat in the hallway with so much stuff.”

Looking back at the intimidating accumulation at the foot of her stairs, she continued: “When I was top of the stairs I looked down and it just looked horrific, I couldn’t believe first of all that I’ve got all this stuff.”

Fortunately, Amanda turned that overwhelming moment around. She continued: “But then, it’s so easy, I kept all of my cute children’s bits and bobs from when they were little, but then there was so much tat, I just binned it, and you feel so clean.”

The transition into a new dwelling always poses challenges, and for Amanda, she upgraded to a lavish £7million home in December 2023. Nestled in her upscale abode with her husband Chris Hughes and daughters, her Instagram fans have occasionally been treated to glimpses of the property’s luxurious features, including a marble interior, a swimming pool, a huge piano, and a chic bar adorned with a humorous painting of Amanda captioned: “I drink to make other people more interesting”.

Aside from her weekday role co-hosting Heart Breakfast with Jamie, Amanda also serves as one of the four judges on Britain’s Got Talent, alongside Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli, with KSI appearing as a guest judge. Since joining the BGT panel at its inception in 2007, the 54-year-old has ventured into presenting, making guest appearances on shows such as Lorraine and This Morning. In 2019, she was appointed as a co-host on Heart Breakfast, a position she has held ever since.
