Alisson Becker’s wife Natalia was supported as she opened up on an emotional time for her family. The Liverpool goalkeeper has been an important player this season with Arne Slot’s side having the best defence in the Premier League.

Alisson is likely to feature in all of the reds’ remaining games as they look set to clinch their 20th league title. He is currently with his national side Brazil as they compete in the final international break before this summer’s Copa America.

Away from the pitch, the 32-year-old is married to wife Natalia. The couple married in 2015 and have three children together called Matteo, Helena and Rafael, who were born between 2017 and 2021.

Natalia regularly shares updates on her personal life to over 346,000 followers on Instagram. In a post earlier this month, Natalia praised Helena as she marked a whole year since she had her appendix removed.

Natalia posted a series of pictures of their stay in hospital including one of Alisson reading a children’s book to her daughter on her hospital bed.

Natalia revealed it had been an emotional time for the family but their Christian faith had helped her throughout this difficult time. In the caption translated from Potugueuse to English, she said: “One year ago today, Helena had surgery to remove her appendix. The appendix ruptured so we were staying in the hospital for a few days.

“She was strong, brave, resilient, she could see the bright side of everything she had experienced. I cried, I suffered seeing her in that situation, I was scared.

“But what we have seen and witnessed God’s action, they can’t fit into a caption. We have seen God in everything. We are grateful for every professional, for the hospital, for the people who made a difference in these days.

“This post is to testify and to say that we are not immune to difficulties. In life, we may experience pain, difficult days, struggles, challenges and bad days but in Jesus, we rest assured that we are not alone. We can enjoy the presence of God in the good and the bad days.”

Natalia added that Helena asked to play You’ll Never Walk Alone in the family car after leaving the hospital. She said: “On the day of her discharge, Helena asked to play some music in the car and chose You’ll Never Walk Alone. I know it wasn’t a random choice, she understood that we don’t walk alone.

“When we got home, I saw the first flowers blooming in our garden after the winter. I was reminded that life is made of seasons, I cried, took this photo of then and then smiled.”

Hundreds of people left their support for Natalia in the comments section. One said: “Our beloved Helena!” Another said: “Bless her, hope she’s recovering well, sending her lots of love.” A third person said: “Beloved! So brave.” A fourth added: “A whole year! What an amazing and brave girl she was!”

Natalia’s sister is Gabriela Loewe Lucca, who is nicknamed Giulia. She is a nutritionist. Alisson is set to become an uncle again as Natalia hosted a surprise baby shower for her sister, who is pregnant with her third child, earlier this year.

Natalia shared a series of heartwarming pictures earlier this year as they celebrated a new addition to the family against a backdrop of pink, purple and yellow balloons.

Liverpool’s next game is the Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield on April 2. The reds are currently 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
