TV personality and model Abbey Clancy was left red-faced after her husband Peter Crouch told of an embarrassing mix-up that had riled her up.

Speaking on the couple’s The Therapy Crouch podcast, Clancy, who grew up in Woolton, admitted she was too quick to question her husband of 19 years after he mentioned another woman’s name during a football match.

Former Liverpool striker, Crouch explained his gripe with the wife “jumping to conclusions quickly” and used an example where the pair were watching the Reds.

Crouch said: “For instance, we were watching the match last night and I said ‘Oh my god, Alisson’s been on fire recently.’

“Ab’s gone ‘Who the f**k is she? And why is she on fire?'”

Both Crouch and the production crew were in fits of laughter as Clancy bit her tongue over the gaffe after mistaking Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker for a woman.

She said: “Allison? What kind of a name is that?”

Peter added: “I said it’s the f**king Liverpool goalkeeper and he’s been making some great saves.”

The hilarious clip was uploaded to the podcast’s Instagram, racking up more than 13,000 likes in just one day. The comment section was full of sympathy for Clancy’s mistake with one user commenting “poor Abbey” with laughing emojis.

Peter Crouch proposed to Abbey in 2009 before the couple tied the knot in June 2011 in a lavish ceremony with family, friends and fellow celebs. The couple have four children.

Abbey has recently launched her own podcast, Exhibit A, where she sits down with various professionals to discuss mental health, physical health and business.

She told MailOnline: “I really suffer from health anxiety, and the worst thing you can do is Google symptoms. It is something that I always do, and I have had to train myself out of it.

“I do scare myself sometimes with self-diagnosing, which I don’t recommend anyone to do. But this is something I’ve been working on, and I have tried hypnotherapy for it, and it does work. It does work.”
