Shane Richie, best known for playing Alfie Moon in EastEnders, has had a long and varied career in entertainment, as well as a colorful personal life.

Before becoming a soap star, Shane began his career as a comedian and TV presenter. He got his start performing as a Pontins entertainer and later moved into stand-up comedy, even earning a nomination at the British Comedy Awards. He went on to host shows like Run the Risk, Lucky Numbers, and The Shane Richie Experience, and took early acting roles in shows such as Night and Day, Skins, Minder, and Benidorm.
Shane first took on the role of Alfie Moon in 2002 and quickly became a fan favorite in EastEnders. After returning to the show in 2022, he remains a central character. In upcoming episodes, Alfie is set to marry Kat Slater for the third time, though things may not go as planned — true to EastEnders style.
Outside of the soap, Shane has appeared in reality shows like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and The Hit List, and he’s also a seasoned stage actor, with roles in pantomimes and musicals such as Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Personal Life
Shane Richie was born in Kensington, London, in 1964 and showed an early interest in performing through youth theatre.
He married his current wife, Christie Goddard, in 2007. Christie has acted in a few small film roles and generally keeps a low profile. Together, they have three children and live in a luxurious five-bedroom home in Surrey.
Before Christie, Shane was married to TV personality and singer Coleen Nolan. They wed in 1990 and had two sons, Shane Jr. and Jake, before divorcing in 1999 after Coleen discovered Shane had been unfaithful.
Coleen, a former member of the girl group The Nolans and a regular on Loose Women, has remained a public figure in British media.
