A former Liverpool FC player has become a father for the first time and revealed his baby’s adorable name.

Neco Williams and his partner Nicole Hagan have welcomed a baby girl into the world. The former Liverpool FC fullback announced the news in a joint social media post with his partner last night.

Sharing an adorable black and white image of the newborn baby, A caption of “Celyse Aster Williams 29.09.2025” was uploaded by the proud parents. A number of Liverpool players old and present have congratulated the Nottingham Forest player after the special family update.

Former Liverpool right back Trent Alexander-Arnold liked the post, as did Curtis Jones. Defender Rhys Williams said “Congrats brother” and Tyler Morton left a red heart emoji. Leighton Clarkson added “congrats”, while many fans shared their love and support.

One comment said: “Beautiful name for a beautiful girl, huge congratulations to you both she’s perfect” and a further reply was “Aw Congratulations to you all, love her name.”

The pregnancy news was announced at the end of May, as Williams shared another black and white photo. The snap showed Williams holding his partner’s belly while she also held it. He said “Baby Williams due October”, and his partner Nicole shared a video of the positive pregnancy test, saying “Been busy growing you! Baby Williams due October.”

Williams made 33 appearances for Liverpool after advancing through the youth ranks, and picked up Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup and League Cup winner’s medals.

An FA Youth Cup winner with the Academy set-up in 2018-19, Williams enjoyed an unforgettable debut at senior level in the following campaign.

Having appeared eight times for Klopp’s side in the 2021-22 season, Williams then joined Championship side Fulham on loan at the start of February for the rest of the campaign. In July 2022, he agreed a permanent move away from the Reds and joined Nottingham Forest.

Upon leaving Liverpool in July 2022, Williams shared a heartfelt post about his time on Merseyside. He said: “5 years at this special club, thank you for everything Liverpool FC it’s been an honour to play for this club and to play under Jurgen Klopp. But I’ve now decided to take up a new challenge.

“I wish all the team and the staff the best of luck for the future and will always continue to support the club. Thank you and never forget YNWA.”
